On this day, May 1, we honor and celebrate workers around the world who consistently contribute in the fight for their rights. Their accomplishments in doing so has left a historical mark—evidence of the common people's power to leave a change.

Back in 1903, roughly 100,00 thousand Filipinos lead by the 'Union Obrera Democratica' and their leader Dr. Dominador Gomez marched the grounds of Malacañang to demand fair conditions after their request to organize was denied.

In the following years, 1908, the Philippine Assembly passed a bill that declares May 1 as the national day of labor.

Despite the hardships and obstacles thrown, the 1903 rally was a success—showing that true change comes from the ones willing enough to execute.

Bagama't pagbagsak ang nangyari sa Bataan, ang mga Pilipinong lumaban at tumindig nang may dangal at pagmamahal sa bayan ay siyang maituturing na kagitingan. 🕊️❤️🇵🇭
