Gal Cleaning
This manga got cancelled (can't blame the publisher tbh cus most of the chapters were pretty boring and cliched), so the mangaka went Sicko Mode and made the ending into a r**e scene to have his manga go out with a bang.

I know what you're thinking: this is an anime and not a book....but since it's an isekai, it's based on a, you guessed it, light novel. I haven't even read or seen Maou-sama Retry, and I already think it looks fu***ng atrocious. Yeah, I know it's an anime adaptation, but the purpose of an adaptation is to sell me the source material. However, this makes me wanna do anything but check out the light novel. Just look at the key visual, it looks like one of those s**tty bland and uninspired movie posters that Hollywood poster designers keeps sh****ng out. oh, and don't get me started on the character designs. A grand portion of these look like s**tty deviantart OCs. You've even got blatant Walmart-brand copies of Saber, Megumin, and Rem. This right here is the undigested cherry pit and hot diarrhea fudge on the s**t sundae that is this Isekai.
I may be wrong and this might actually be alright for what it is, but I ain't gonna touch it. This eyesore of an isekai looks like it has even less production value than The Amazing Bulk.
You know, this says a lot about the absolute fu***ng state of light novels and anime. At this point, writers and producers are just slinging s**t on a wall to see what sticks

Hot take: most dudes who say "don't lewd komi-san" don't actually even read the manga. I actually have asked a lot of them and they usually say no
Posers lmao

Fan suggestion by Cristian Moroboshi: one of the kinds of books that sell the most in Brazil are autobiographical books of Famous Brazilian Youtubers, and they are usually targeted at children / fans.
I have never seen any videos from Brazilian YouTubers and I'd hate to see em. Western YouTubers are already fu***ng bad enough with subhuman scum like the Paul brothers, the Fine Bros, and Ricegum. Just imagine how fu***ng worse Braziltubers would be

I have never seen the movie and didn't care about it when it was released , so I decided to finally get into it so I picked up the book. This is pretty much a blind review since I have not been exposed to the movie at allo
Anyway, this book kinda sucks. Like a grand majority of the content is some kind of reference to something, and the references do little to contribute to the world building or plot. It's like the anime Nyaruko-san but as a novel and not as enjoyable.
It heavily heavily HEAVILY relies on cheap 80s references and I've already grown tired of that s**t since everyone and their fu***ng uncle is doing it at this point. Not only that, but these references do very little for the world building side of things.
Not only 80s references, but obviously since the title makes you expect this: tons and tons of game references. It might be cool at first but it gets fu***ng ridiculous after a while. Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with referencing pop culture in fiction, but if the book relies on doing this over and over and over without purpose, then that's when it just seems fu***ng annoying. Thank goodness this book predates 2017 because otherwise we would have gotten s**tty ass Fortnite references and that's like the last fu***ng thing I would want in a novel.
Oh, and Cline's obsession with some gamer girl is pretty cringy
I did unironically like Cline as a character a bit since he is autistic like me. Yeah, autistic. If you pay attention to the novel's details, a lot of his behavior and mannerisms match that of someone with Asperger's. But this isn't an entirely good thing because it's like staring into a mirror and the mirror is reminding you that you are the big gay.
Anyway, it wasn't as awful as other novels I covered here before, but noneless it's still a bad novel and if this is how the book is, I'd hate to see the movie. I don't care is Steven Spielberg directed it, I am still gonna give it a hard pass

Since E3 is going on, time for some s**tty game books

Note: this is about the book, not the miniseries or movie
Also, you may be wondering why this book is on this page The book itself isn't cursed since it was a great story for the most part, but there's one specific part that's super cursed and didn't make it into the live action adaptations for good reason: there's a part where there's a child s*x o**y, I s**t you not. I don't know what kind of fu**ed up fever dream Stephen King had when he came up with that. Then again, the man did drugs. Lots of them. Either way, I would not trust Stephen King with children, so I would hide your kids and your wife from him.
Both film adaptations do s*xualize Beverly one way or another, but they don't go all out with the o**y that Stephen King originally wrote. Since Hollywood is full of pedophiles, and if they had their way by pushing for "MAP acceptance", they definitely would have put that scene in.

Literally the first draft of To Kill a Mockingbird. So yeah, nothing more than a lazy cash grab.

Fun fact: there was a JoJo knockoff comic back in the late 90s
It mostly ripped off Stardust Crusaders because that's all the west knew of about JoJo back then, when English-speakers only had the OVA and an arcade game
Thankfully, it only got one issue. Not much to say about it since it speaks for itself
Anyway, be sure to read my thoughts of the original English fan translation of Vento Aureo, in my previous post

Since I covered Part 4's original fan translation and how it's so bad it's good, here's my thoughts on the original Part 5 fan translations. There are no spoilers for Part 5 since the anime adaptation for this part is still ongoing
They were fu***ng horses**t. Yeah, Part 4's infamous Duwang translations were awful too but in a funny way that still made it readable, but the translation for Part 5 will give you fu***ng headaches over how bad it is. The Duwang translation still managed to give personality to the characters, but the Part 5 translation made the characters personalities feel so robotic since everything was translated literally, but not in a good way. Didn't help that the translation scans were from the Chinese release of the manga, so it was a translation of a translation, so plenty of s**t got lost in translation. Then again, Part 4's translation was done like that too, but at least they tried there instead of just doing a literal translation and calling it a day. Not only that, but they had the fu***ng gall to chose Comic Sans as the typesetting for the translation. What were they thinking?! Yeah, I know what your thinking: "it's a manga and manga are comics so therefore Comic Sans would be a great pick for it" and that's where you'd be wrong because it looks fu***ng ugly on anything, even comics. No actual self-respecting artist or writer would even use that on their own work. Even the Duwang translator didn't use that putrid font. Also it doesn't help that it was edited on MS Paint, and it shows since you can tell the lack of anti-aliasing in the text. This just makes the ugly font look jagged and even uglier, so it really cranks up the diarrhea dial.
Because of how fu***ng awful the translation was, the later parts of Part 5 are confusing as hell since the way the main antagonist's stand works is badly explained, hence the infamous "it just works" meme about said villain's Stand.
I have a personal vendetta with this translation mostly because back in the day, this was the only way that JoJo fans in the west could check out Part 5. Unfortunately because of how fu***ng bad it is, it made people think this is the worst part ever, and I am guilty of thinking that too at one point in my life. It kinda reminds me of how the North American release of Castlevania II: Simon's Quest had an awful translation that made people hate it.
But now that better translations were finished, including a fully colored one, I reread it a year back and Part 5 turned out to be one of my favorite JoJo parts ever.
