UAE says it ends mission of counterterrorism units in Yemen voluntarily
The United Arab Emirates' defence ministry said on Tuesday it has voluntarily ended the mission of its counterterrorism units in Yemen, the only remaining forces it has in the country after ending its military presence in 2019.

"I still wonder to this day where the cave led. Part of me fantasized that if you kept going through it, you would come back out to Yemen, a thousand years ago. And that besides some topical elements of phones and cars, Yemen would look the same. The people for sure, would be the same. The same hospitality, the same nativism and curiosity of the other and the same Yemeni smile. You can always tell so much about a culture by their smile.
The other fantasy in my head was that it led to the center of the earth - a hollowed out world of dragons, prehistoric beasts, spirits and magic. For a place as mystical, mysterious and magical as Yemen, I guess both could be true. Perhaps though, what truly lay beyond, in that dark, forbidden chasm, was the soul of Yemen, an energy that fuels and feeds the Arabian mystery that is Yemen - a timeless place that in some ways, never ages. "
