The City of Tshwane Emergency Services urges residents and motorists to take extra care as cold and rainy weather persist over the next few days.
đźš— Motorists:
• Slow down and keep a safe following distance.
• Use headlights when visibility is poor.
• Avoid sudden braking and lane changes.
• Never drive through flooded roads or areas where you cannot see the road surface.
🏠Residents:
• Keep heaters away from curtains, bedding and other flammable items.
• Never leave heaters, candles or open flames unattended.
• Never use an imbawula or brazier in an enclosed or poorly ventilated space.
• Avoid overloading electrical sockets.
• Keep children away from heaters and open flames.
Stay warm. Stay alert. Stay safe.
Follow official weather alerts and take precautions throughout the cold and rainy period.
