Monday, 28 September 2026:- The South African Communist Party (SACP) cordially invites the media to cover the launch of the SACP Red October 2026-2027 Campaign in the Eastern Cape Province.

The launch will be addressed by SACP General Secretary, Comrade Solly Mapaila.

Details of the launch are as follows:

Date: Sunday, 4 October 2026

Time: 11h00

Venue: Komga, Great Kei Sub-District, Ncumiso Kondlo District, Eastern Cape.

The SACP Red October 2026-2027 Campaign takes place one month before the people of South Africa cast their ballots in the local government elections. 🔴 RED OCTOBER!

Red October carries a special place in the history and tradition of the SACP. Born in tribute to the Great October Socialist Revolution of 1917, it remembers a moment that profoundly changed the course of the international working-class movement.

For the SACP, Red October has grown beyond commemoration into one of its defining annual campaigns a period associated with communist activism, organisation and campaigns focused on the struggles of workers and the poor.

And for the Young Communist League, understanding Red October means understanding the revolutionary history from which our movement draws its political traditions.

Join the SACP as it launches the Red October campaign in the Eastern Cape
