UPDATE ON THE UNPLANNED POWER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION AFFECTING SMITH 2, THANDA 1 AND THANDA 2

This notice serves to inform residents that the technical team has successfully completed the repairs at Thanda 1 and Thanda 2, as well as the re-routing of poles along the Ermelo Line.

Power has now been fully restored to all affected areas.

Earlier today, 8 October 2026, a clean-up campaign reached Saul Mkhizeville in Ward 18, encouraging residents to take pride in their surroundings and make cleanliness a shared responsibility.

Let’s all take action and stop illegal dumping, keep our streets and public spaces clean, and dispose of waste responsibly.

Mkhondo Local Municipality is taking action for a cleaner and healthier Mkhondo.

MOTIVATION & NSC PLEDGE SIGNING | CLASS OF 2026

The Mpumalanga Department of Education – Gert Sibande District invites all Grade 12 learners from the Mkhondo East and Mkhondo West Circuits to attend the NSC Pledge Signing Ceremony.

The programme aims to inspire and encourage the Class of 2026 to remain focused, disciplined and committed as they prepare for their final examinations and strive for academic excellence.

The Executive Mayor, Cllr. Ngelosi Ndhlovu, will deliver a Keynote Address, and the programme will also feature motivational Speaker Pastor Sthembiso Zondo.

This notice serves to update residents regarding the re-routing of poles along the Ermelo Line.

The SANRAL team was unable to complete the work today and will resume work tomorrow morning on the N2 Steenkamp side.

Affected areas are as follows:
