WARD 13 - POWER OUTAGES

After numerous complaints logged at the electricity department regarding power outages in Helenvale, we were told the bucket truck went in for Service.

This morning the bucket truck became available and we managed to restore
electricity in the following Streets in Helenvale:

6 - 8 Fitchard Street
48 - 50 Deverill Road
52 - 54 Leith Street
15 Ambraal Street

We would like to thank the residents for their patience during these outages.

Good evening All

The Ward 13 team is committed to giving back to the community by hosting a weekly soup distribution.

Today's soup kitchen were held on the corner of Gail Road and Bell Road providing a hot cup of soup to those in need, and demonstrating our commitment to empowering our people.

It may not be much, but we believe in giving back to our people.

⚡ POWER OUTAGE UPDATE – HELENVALE & GELVANDALE

This is an update from Councillor Ingrid van Wyk regarding the ongoing power outage.
The technical team is still busy working on the underground cable. The repair requires two joints to be made and properly sealed. Once the joints are completed, a special compound will be poured into them, which then needs to set for approximately two hours.

Only once the compound has properly set can the team test the line again. If the testing is successful and everything is safe, the electricity can then be switched back on.
This is a technical and time-consuming process, but the team is working to restore the power as soon as possible.

We will continue to keep residents informed of the progress and provide further updates as soon as we receive them.
