This is a shoutout to Retief Odendaal NMB 💙

For a year now Retief has been on the ground listening to residents, meeting with stakeholders, resolving service issues and holding town hall meetings across Nelson Mandela Bay. Nobody is working harder to rescue our city.

He has launched his vision to and taken that vision to all corners of the metro and into all communities. His vision isn’t a pipe dream, it is backed up by plans based on his experience over two decades serving the people of NMB selflessly in opposition and in government.

His vision and his plans are our best hope of getting NMB working again and his pledges are clear:

1. Make NMB safe and clean
2. Deliver water and electricity
3. Attract investment to create jobs
4. Stop corruption
5. Improve infrastructure and housing opportunities

Nelson Mandela Bay is South Africa’s most fixable city and can quickly become its most investable city under the right leadership.

But, NMB is running out of time and running out of money. Now is the time to unite behind the DA and elect Retief Odendaal as our Mayor to get NMB to working again.

You have the power to make this happen !

Today I visited His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini at Emashobeni Royal Palace, together with our DA leaders, to affirm the DA’s respect for the institution of traditional leadership and its important role in the lives of millions of South Africans.

My message was that as the DA grows across the country, we will always continue this relationship of respect. Also, that the best way to honour the Zulu nation is to build a country that truly works - where young people can find work, families can live in safety, and children can receive a quality education. That is what the DA will do.

🔥 BOLT PASSENGER STOPS TO GREET HELEN ZILLE IN FLUENT XHOSA – THEIR CONVERSATION ABOUT JOHANNESBURG HAS MZANSI TALKING! 🇿🇦

A heartwarming interaction has gone viral after a Bolt passenger stopped to greet Helen Zille and speak to her in fluent Xhosa.

According to viewers of the video, the woman warmly greeted Zille, saying "Ndiyakuthanda Mama Helen" (I love you, Mama Helen), before asking what she plans to do to help fix Johannesburg and improve the lives of ordinary residents.

What caught many people by surprise was Helen Zille's response in fluent Xhosa. She reportedly asked the woman her name, greeted her warmly, and reassured her that she remains committed to helping improve governance and service delivery.

Viewers say the exchange included phrases such as "Ngubani igama lakho?" (What is your name?) and a discussion about making Johannesburg work better for its residents.

The interaction has sparked debate across social media, with supporters praising Zille's ability to connect with people in their own language, while critics say politicians should ultimately be judged by results on the ground.

Regardless of political views, many South Africans were impressed by the friendly exchange and the use of Xhosa throughout the conversation.

💬 Could moments like this help bridge the gap between politicians and ordinary citizens, or are South Africans looking for action rather than words?

🔥 "NDIYAKUTHANDA MAMA HELEN!" A Bolt passenger's Xhosa conversation with Helen Zille about the future of Johannesburg is getting the whole country talking. 🇿🇦👇
