IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE MRS BONIWE PELEPELE | MEMORIAL SERVICE

Wednesday, 07 August 2026:

Port St Johns Local Municipality held a memorial service for the late Mrs B. Pelepele who served the municipality as an employee under Community Services. The service was attended by the municipal leadership, management, her former colleagues and, most importantly, the Pelepele family and friends.

She will be laid to rest on Saturday, 10 October 2026, at her home, Majola, Tshakude Location here in Port St Johns.

The municipality extends deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time. Mrs Pelepele was a reliable employee and a wonderful person who will be so deeply missed.

OR TAMBO DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY HANDED OVER FERTILISERS TO SMALLHOLDER FARMERS IN PORT ST JOHNS

Port St Johns- The OR Tambo District Municipality, in collaboration with the Port St Johns Local Municipality, has successfully handed over fertilizer to smallholder farmers at the Port St Johns Department of Agriculture offices.

This initiative is aimed at empowering local and small-scale farmers, boosting agricultural productivity, and stimulate economic growth.

The farmers expressed their sincere gratitude for the support, which will go a long way in improving their farming activities.

The Municipality remains committed to supporting smallholder farmers and strengthening food security.

OR TAMBO DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY SUCCESSFULLY HOSTS AGRICULTURAL INFORMATION DAY

The O.R. Tambo District Municipality, in partnership with Eyoluntu Project,successfully hosted an Information Day at the Kei Fresh Produce Market.

The programme brought together stakeholders, farmers and local businesses to engage on opportunities and support in agricultural production, agri-business, agro-processing, sustainable agriculture, financing, market access and business sustainability.

The programme also featured a fertiliser handover, panel discussions and the Eyoluntu Awards.

The District remains committed to empowering farmers and strengthening food security and economic growth in the region.
