More than 21,000 learners received NSF funding for education and training in the second quarter—each with a journey, an ambition and a future to build.

Expanding these opportunities is central to the National Skills Fund’s (NSF) SDI Senior Management Meeting at the College of Cape Town’s Crawford Campus on 22–23 October 2026.

Chaired on day one by Dr Tshepho Mokoena, the engagement brings together Chief Director Ms Kgaogelo Hlongwane and the management team to review performance, strengthen accountability and align future funding with national skills priorities.

The focus: helping more South Africans access relevant training, complete their studies and prepare for opportunities.

ON THE GROUND | A CLOSER LOOK AT ARTISAN DEVELOPMENT

Following the progress review meeting, the National Skills Fund’s (NSF) Skills Development Implementation (SDI) Senior Management team visited the MCK Artisan Development Project site in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape, today, 21 October 2026.

The visit provided an opportunity for the team to observe learners during their practical training and engage directly with beneficiaries about their experiences, progress and skills development journeys.

By connecting project oversight with first-hand engagement on the ground, the NSF continues to strengthen its understanding of project implementation and the real experiences of learners whose futures are being shaped through skills development.
