DA Fundraising Initiative - Gauteng North
This is a fundraising initiative in Gauteng North to support the DA's political campaign. We need to get involved. We need to get our friends involved.
Our fundraising efforts are motivated by the sole reason that we want to put into practice the change we want to see in our country. Our apathetic attitudes, especially shown by “us”, the youth, toward our country, and the constant criticism we so freely express toward our government, is something that has to change. And get friends of friends involved. We need to volunteer. We need to try make a

I want to experience Vision 2029 - we must get Gauteng Blue. "Two days from now, the DA will launch its Vision 2029 here in Gauteng, in Soweto. This is a blueprint for the type of society we intend to build, based on our three core values of Freedom, Fairness and Opportunity for all South Africans. We call it Vision 2029, because it describes South African society after ten years of a DA-led national government. Count back ten years from 2029, and you will see exactly where our sights are set. It is a huge task, but our immediate next step is the 2016 Local Government Elections. Following last year’s elections, three new metros are in play for the DA: Nelson Mandela Bay, Tshwane and Johannesburg. Winning one or more of these metros will propel us towards 2019 with enormous momentum." Mmusi Maimane MP, during a panel discussion at The Gathering hosted by the Daily Maverick at Vodawold.

ANC attacks have left sections of SA media ‘compromised’: Maimane PW Botha used “Total Strategy” to take government propaganda to a whole new level. BJ Vorster sought to control the news by effectively bankrolling and controlling a newspaper.
"And so the question we must ask today is: what is holding us back from achieving Madiba’s vision? We can blame apartheid. We can blame the global financial system. We can even blame Jan van Riebeeck. But in our hearts, we know what the problem is. We have allowed those in power to become bigger than our institutions, breaking them down bit by bit. We have allowed one powerful man to get away with too much for too long. This man is here in our presence today." Mmusi Maimane

"We need to become the nation that President Nelson Mandela helped us believe we could become. A place of hope, prosperity, selfless leadership and mutual respect." Mmusi Maimane
Help us become that nation by supporting our fundraising event.
Extract from Mmusi Maimane's speech delivered during the State of the Nation Address Debate:
"Madam Speaker, change may seem slow, but it is coming. There is a swell starting to build and, when the wave crashes, it will sweep this broken man out of power. When that happens, we will be there to start fixing this broken society, and unleash the potential of South Africans."
