VVA was founded on 25 March 1908 by President and Mrs.
We are committed to protecting children, strengthening families, supporting older persons, and uplifting vulnerable communities for a brighter future. MT Steyn as the Oranje-Vrouevereniging on the farm Onze Rust, just outside Bloemfontein. In the aftermath of the Anglo-Boer War, our community faced immense challenges, including social disruption, economic hardship, and drought. In response, the OV
V was established to provide much-needed support to women and children. A LEGACY OF HOPE
Over 113 years, VVA has grown from humble beginnings to become a leading organisation in the Free State, providing hope and support to thousands of people in distress. Our rich history is marked by a commitment to preserving cultural and moral values while promoting individual, family, and community development. OUR IMPACT
Throughout our history, we've played a pivotal role in establishing essential services, including maternity hospitals, district nursing services, home management schools, and nutrition schemes. Today, our strong infrastructure, dedicated volunteers, and experienced staff enable us to deliver comprehensive social services across all regions of the Free State. OUR MISSION
