On this World Environment Day, Zambia Forestry College joins the global community in celebrating and reaffirming our commitment to protecting and restoring the environment for present and future generations.

This year's theme, "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future," reminds us that nature provides the solutions we need to address climate change, biodiversity loss, land degradation, and other environmental challenges facing our world today. Forests, wetlands, grasslands, and other natural ecosystems play a critical role in regulating climate, conserving biodiversity, and sustaining livelihoods.

As a leading institution in forestry education and training, Zambia Forestry College recognizes the importance of developing skilled professionals who can sustainably manage forest resources and promote environmental stewardship. Through education, research, and practical training, the College continues to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute meaningfully to climate action, forest conservation, and sustainable development.

Institutions such as Zambia Forestry College are vital in shaping a future where natural resources are managed responsibly. By training foresters, environmental managers, and conservation practitioners, the College helps strengthen Zambia's capacity to combat climate change, restore degraded landscapes, and ensure the sustainable use of forest resources for generations to come.

On this special day, we encourage all citizens, communities, organizations, and stakeholders to take positive action towards protecting our environment. Together, we can plant trees, conserve forests, reduce pollution, and adopt sustainable practices that safeguard our climate and secure a better future.

Let us be inspired by nature to act today for the benefit of our climate and the generations that will inherit our planet tomorrow.

Happy World Environment Day!

On this International Day of Forests(IDF), under the inspiring theme "Forests and Economies", we celebrate you the dedicated guardians who stand at the vital intersection of nature and prosperity.

Forests are far more than green landscapes; they are powerful engines of economic growth and stability. They generate livelihoods for millions, provide raw materials that build homes and industries, support tourism that brings communities to life, regulate water for agriculture and cities, and offer nature-based solutions that power sustainable bio-economies of the future.

Every tree you nurture, every hectare you manage sustainably, every seed you plant contributes directly to jobs, incomes, poverty reduction, and resilient national economies. Your daily work whether in planting, protection, research, community forestry, sustainable harvesting, or restoration proves that caring for forests is not just an environmental imperative; it is smart economics. By keeping forests healthy, you help secure food systems, clean water, climate stability, and long-term prosperity for present and future generations.

Today, we honor your expertise, your resilience in challenging conditions, and your unwavering commitment to balancing conservation with wise use. You are the proof that forests and economies can and must thrive together.
