The Zambian School Guide is an ONLINE Magazine which was first published in November 2014. The magazine was set up by local entrepreneurs who saw a gap in the market with regards to information on good schools, educational services and products. The Magazine is published Termly and is available in all leading supermarkets, book shops, gas station Quick Shops, air lines and Street book sellers. PURPOSE

The magazine can be used by parents with school going children as a tool, to not only locate schools, but to also obtain information with regards to the Spirit of the various schools. This will allow them to make better informed decisions. Increasingly, most households have both parents working late hours to provide for their families and to secure their children’s future by providing good education. In order to provide a good education, the children need to go to good schools. But because of the long hours that parents work, they find little time to look at various options, as it would entail taking time off to visit various institutions. Parents therefore mostly depend on word of mouth from friends or workmates to make decisions on which schools to take their children to. As much as it is a good thing to hear from friends or relatives the best is for one to find a suitable school or college based on adequate information. The School guide gives you the chance to review different schools both government and private, from nursery t university level, in the comfort of your office or home. In addition, the School Guide gives you the opportunity not only to look at the potential schools for your nursery, primary or secondary school going children, but also your preferred College or University. Our School Guide has information from Baby Class to University and that is why it is a tool and not just a magazine. Students

The magazine will also be of interest to students not only to select the school of their choice, but also because of the awards and prize giving competitions that they could win based on academic achievement, performance in grades, and contribution of educational and child youth building related articles to the magazine. children’s rights, child abuse, career choices, HIV/AIDS e.t.c. Students will also buy the magazine not only to find out who is enrolling, but also to see which companies or institutions are offering financial aid (bursaries) if they qualify, and how they can acquire them. This segment explores a topic, enables the reader to see and study the particular topic at hand, and also brings to light the depth of the Topic of Discussion. This is a segment where we will have articles that go in depth e.g. in our first issue, one of the topics we brought out under the researcher is math and women, why most female students slack in the subject compared to men and how they can improve their grades. TECHNO SPACE:
Here we shall be talking about how technology can, has, and will improved the education sector not only in Zambia but also the world. It will also highlight our own technological advancement, discoveries and innovations I Zambia from the National Science and Technology Council. Such articles will we believe will bring insight about technology and education. HEALTH CORNER:
Here we are addressing the issue of health. We basically talk about and educate the parents and youths alike about living physically, mentally and emotionally healthy lives. We shall be looking at AIDS and HIV, BREAST CANER, CERVICAL CANCER and other disease outbreaks. Here we target to educate the young and old on the dangers of these diseases, and how they can prevent them and protect themselves. ADVICE CORNER
We have a segment under Advice Corner that we are calling “Ask Pastor k.” young people get to write in on issues that they are facing that they feel they need to talk to someone about and get free advice. With a young celebrity pastor, actor, and father, who youths can relate to and someone they feel can “understand” theme advising them, little is bound to go past their attention. We realize that this generation seems to know it all so we gave them again a place to see that they need to hear from other people. Topics discussed are smocking, drugs, sex, relationships, financial problems, and academic challenges, family e.t.c. we believe that this corner will help them addressed their issues and direct their focus and concentration on productive and positive things. YOUR CHILD AND YOU:
Here we are talking to Parents not just the working parents but also the stay at home parents on how best they can impact, change and participate in their children’s live. We will raise and discussions topics such as the effects of beating your child as a way of disciplining them, gender based violence and its effects on children, how to help your child to study and so on... We believe these issues will help the parent and also the child to understand the relationship they should have with each other which will create love, respect and appreciation for one another. MONEY AND YOU:
Here we talk about money matters, and institutions such as banks and insurance companies. we shall be sharing with people the ability to save how to save, how to use money, how to buy shares and when to buy shares, businesses etc, We believe that the Zambian youth, mother and father needs to start understanding money matters at an early age. CHILD PROTECTION AND YOUTH BUILDING:
This is where we talk about protection on both the Girl child mostly and boy child, we are talking about abused children how we should care for them, how to know when they have been abused. Articles that will empower the youths, the Government and Ngo projects for the youth, and projects designed to give hope and equip ordinary youths. We believe we will help the Zambian youth in so many ways, information is power. ENTERTAINMENT
We all know that the number one topic on the mouths of most youths today is entertainment, and we want to use this forum to reach them. In every issue of the magazine we will have a cut away poster on the center piece of the magazine on a celebrity that we chose. In picking this celebrity we chose someone that youth’s love but can also learn something positive from.
