MoveOn Moda 2025! 👗✨ - Sustainable fashion the Italian way
Blending sustainability, innovation and cultural identity on the runway of the Zambian-Italian Cultural Centre.
5 Zambian up and coming fashion designers presented their collections which were developed in the course of a thirty day collaboration with Valentina Sardella.
Valentina is the founder and the creative mind behind Pezzeculiar, the Italian brand which specializes in upcycled materials.
Italian fashion icon Marina Spadafora joined us from Milan to chair the jury which awarded its special prize for the most striking collection to Attman: "Resilience Reimagined".
Marina is the coordinator of Fashion Revolution Italy and a Fair Fashion ambassador. She was awarded the UN Women Together Award in 2015

Tonight, five young Zambian designers will showcase their first upcycled capsule collections at the Sustainable Fashion Show. Guiding the competition is a distinguished jury of experts from fashion, culture and innovation:
👗 Marina Spadafora – Country Coordinator of Fashion Revolution Italy, Professor of Ethical Fashion and global advocate for sustainable and ethical fashion.
👗 Kapasa Musonda – Founder & Creative Director of Mangishi Doll. An alumna of FIDM Los Angeles, she has brought Afro-eclectic fashion to global runways dressing stars like Angela Bassett.
👗 Sekayi Fundafunda – Art director, blogger and founder of MaFashio. With over 12 years’ experience in fashion content creation she champions sustainability and youth education.
💡 Komba Malukutila – Managing Director of FinTech at MTN Zambia. A leader in digital transformation and mobile money innovation and a lifestyle enthusiast.
📚 Mulenga Kapwepwe – Co-founder & Director of the Women’s History Museum of Zambia. Author, playwright and cultural historian dedicated to preserving and digitizing women’s narratives.
🎭 Giuseppe Barberio – Cultural events coordinator at the Zambia-Italian Cultural Centre for over 10 years, co-curator of Move On Musica and Move On Moda with the Italian Embassy.
They will evaluate the collections based on creativity, sustainability, craftsmanship and storytelling – the pillars of Move On Moda.

We are honored to announce the extraordinary participation of Marina Spadafora: fashion designer and Country Coordinator of Fashion Revolution Italy, as guest judge at the Move On Moda Fashion Show on September 27th, 2025 in Lusaka.
Marina is a global advocate for ethical and sustainable fashion, Professor of Ethical Fashion and a driving force behind the Fashion Revolution movement. Her expertise and vision will bring immense value to our young Zambian designers, who have spent a month in residency with Italian designer Valentina Sardella (Pezzeculiar) creating upcycled capsule collections.
On the runway, five emerging designers will present their work to Marina and a distinguished panel of experts, competing for the top recognition based on creativity, sustainability, craftsmanship, and storytelling.
We are truly excited to welcome Marina to Zambia – her presence is a testament to the global importance of building a fashion industry rooted in sustainability, culture, and innovation. 🌍✨
