Fellow residents of Livingstone,
Please be advised that Mokambo Way will be temporarily closed tomorrow, 6th May 2026, from 07:00hrs to 12:30hrs to facilitate the groundbreaking ceremony for the rehabilitation and upgrading of selected city centre roads to bituminous standard.
This marks an important step in improving our road infrastructure, enhancing mobility, and supporting economic activity within our city. The upgrade of over 8km of roads is part of our broader commitment to modernising Livingstone and improving the daily lives of our people.
We acknowledge the inconvenience this temporary closure may cause and sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time.
Together, we are laying the foundation for a better and more connected Livingstone.

Today, we showcase the real impact of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in Livingstone; where investment meets transformation.
From 95 community projects delivered to empowering 3,784 grant beneficiaries, supporting 399 loan recipients, and providing 764 secondary school bursaries, the results speak for themselves. Additionally, 3,294 individuals have gained valuable skills, strengthening livelihoods across our communities.
These achievements reflect more than progress; they represent hope, opportunity, and a shared vision for a better future.
Through transparency, accountability, and people-centered development, we remain committed to ensuring that every citizen benefits from national resources.
Building today for a better Livingstone.

Last night, I had the honour of officiating at the launch of TVS Motor Company’s official entry into Zambia; and as someone with a real passion for motorbikes, I must say this was an especially exciting occasion for me.
With Zambia’s youthful population and growing demand for mobility, the arrival of TVS creates new opportunities for entrepreneurship, job creation, and adventure tourism.
And we’re only just getting started. We’re already revving up for the Africa Bike Culture Festival 2026 in Livingstone from 22-29 May, where riders from across the continent will experience the adventure, culture, and breathtaking landscapes that make Zambia truly special.
This is what Zambia Moves You is all about; movement, opportunity, and a little bit of adventure along the way.
To our partners at TVS Motor Company and Zamoto Manufacturing Limited; thank you for moving with us. The journey ahead looks exciting.

It was a pleasure to speak yesterday at the Stakeholder Meeting on Conservation, held as part of the management partnership between the Ministry of Tourism and African Parks for Kafue National Park, Liuwa National Park, and the Bangweulu Wetlands.
Conservation is a shared responsibility; and we are all in this together.
Special gratitude goes to African Parks for stepping up, and to all stakeholders and partners whose commitment continues to strengthen Zambia’s conservation efforts.
Our goal is to leave Zambia and her beautiful parks protected and thriving for generations to come. We achieve this through hard work, unity between Government and the private sector, strong relationships, and a shared intention to safeguard our natural heritage.
Together, we are protecting wildlife, supporting communities, and building Zambia’s tourism future.

Livingstone Born. Livingstone Proud. Livingstone Focused.
Following the constituency delimitation, Livingstone has given birth to a new constituency; Maramba (Republic of Libuyu), a milestone that reflects growth and improved representation for our district.
Our revised Livingstone Constituency now remains with Nine (9) Wards:
Dr. Mubitana, Mosi Oa Tunya, Akapelwa (Central Business), Freedom (Airport), Dambwa Central, Zambezi Ward (National Park), Nakatindi, Lizuma, and Simonga (Safari Camps), plus the mighty Mosi-oa-Tunya / Victoria Falls & Border 🇿🇲
Though the constituency has reduced in size, our vision for development remains bigger than ever. As a proud son of the soil, I remain committed to developing Livingstone District and Zambia together.
To my revised Livingstone Constituency…
Brace yourselves… lukacha kulamba. 💪🇿🇲
The work continues.

Honoured to engage with stakeholders at the Fourth Travel, Hospitality and Tourism Education Summit today, and to welcome our Guest of Honour, President Hakainde Hichilema, whose keen interest in the tourism sector and education continues to inspire our efforts to grow opportunities for our young people. 🇿🇲
I was pleased to share that the conveyancing process for 160 hectares of land for the Zambia Institute for Tourism and Hospitality Studies Mukuni International Academy has now been completed; an important step toward building a world-class tourism and hospitality training institution for Zambia and the region.
We also remain grateful to the European Union for their continued partnership and support to Zambia’s tourism development agenda.
By investing in our people, we are investing in our future. Zambia is shining brightly, and together, we will continue to grow, innovate and create opportunities for generations to come. 🇿🇲

Yesterday, we arrived in Harare, Zimbabwe, to participate in the Lower Zambezi–Mana Pools Transfrontier Conservation Area Ministerial Meeting, alongside the ZIMOZA TFCA engagements.
These important meetings bring together partner countries to strengthen collaboration in biodiversity conservation, sustainable tourism, and the management of our shared natural resources.
Zambia remains committed to regional cooperation as we position tourism as a key driver of economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development.
Together, we continue to advance a shared vision for our region, one that protects our natural heritage while unlocking opportunities for our people.

Yesterday we didn’t just switch on lights; we switched on opportunity. 💡
With 976 solar-powered streetlights now lighting up Livingstone, we’re powering safer streets, supporting the 24-hour economy, and giving our tourism capital the glow it deserves.
Because a beautiful city like Livingstone should never be seen in the dark.
