The Municipality of Chinhoyi today proudly commemorated Africa Day 2026 at the Civic Centre, bringing together residents, community leaders, and stakeholders to celebrate Africa's rich cultural heritage, unity, and diversity.
Councillor Malunga, standing in for His Worship, Mayor Owen Charuza, delivered the speech, highlighting the importance of African unity, cultural preservation, and community development.The event featured vibrant cultural displays, traditional attire, poetry, traditional dances, and African cuisine, showcasing the beauty and pride of our continent.

One Africa, One People, One Destiny! Together, we celebrate our heritage, embrace our diversity, and build a brighter future for generations to come.

The Municipality of Chinhoyi held a training workshop on 21 May 2026 at Cooksey Hall on anti corruption. The workshop was conducted by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) and witnessed by the Public Service Commission of Zimbabwe and it focussed on curbing corruption . At the end of the workshop, HoD's and middle managers signed the Integrity Pledge , an affirmation anti corruption drive.

The Municipality of Chinhoyi held an interface with the media on the 14th of May 2026 at the Chinhoyi University of Technology Hotel. Issues were discussed which included legacy issues, service delivery issues and how the newly appointed Town Clerk was going to articulate such issues. It was quite a fruitful meeting and the two parties agreed to interact more often so that they can be in a position to understand the trajectory of the council and how it is going to meet its intended vision of being a Smart City of Choice by 2030.
