The ZRP is investigating a case of murder in which a fourth-year Psychology student at Midlands State University, Lisedi Nkomo (25) died at a boarding house in Senga, Gweru on 08/10/2026. The victim was allegedly shot once on the forehead by her ex-husband, Godknows Muleya, following a dispute. The suspect allegedly fled the scene after locking other tenants inside a room at the boarding house and taking their cellphones. Anyone with information which may assist in locating the suspect to report at any nearest Police Station. .

The ZRP is investigating a fatal hit-and-run road traffic accident which occurred on 06/10/26 at the 412 km peg along the Harare-Bulawayo Road. A motorist driving an unidentified motor vehicle allegedly struck a pedestrian and sped away from the scene without stopping. The pedestrian sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.

The CGP Stephen Mutamba has challenged all Commissioners to be the torch- bearer in ensuring that Zimbabweans get the police standards which guarantees peace, safety and security for socio-economic development in the country. The CGP was addressing the senior officers at a review workshop held at the Police Sports Club today.

Reference is made to a video circulating on social media platforms showing a man assaulting another man who was seated on a bench.
The ZRP reiterate that no one is above the law. Members of the public are urged to desist from taking the law into their own hands and to report suspected criminal activities to the Police.

The ZRP confirms the arrest of Anesu Mashingaidze (22) and Thomas Bhirinadho (23) in connection with a case of stock theft in which two oxen were stolen from the complainant’s kraal in Mutoko during the night on 05/10/26. The police has since recovered the two stolen oxen valued at US$2,400.

The ZRP confirms the arrest of Stephen Madzoro and Munashe Gurupira in connection with a robbery case which occurred at the corner of R. Mugabe Way and Angwa Street, Harare on 05/10/26. The two suspects, along with two others who are yet to be arrested, allegedly attacked a complainant and robbed him of a cellphone and US$135.00.

The ZRP is investigating a hit-and-run road traffic accident which occurred on 05/10/26 at around 0700 hours along Simon Mazorodze Road near Pepsi. The accident occurred when a motorist who was driving a Nissan Caravan allegedly hit a pedestrian who was walking along the roadside. The pedestrian sustained injuries and was referred to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital for medical treatment. The motorist did not stop after the accident.

On 03/10/26, Police in Mutare swiftly responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft which occurred at Glow Petroleum service station at around 2200 hours. Police arrested Obvious Charamba (55) in connection with the theft after he allegedly stole a Toyota Hiace which the complainant had parked at the service station, leaving the vehicle’s keys on the ignition.
