πŸ“‘ Transforming Education in Hwange District! πŸŽ“

Hwange Rural District is proud to announce the successful delivery and installation of a Starlink Kit at Nechishala Secondary School in Simangani Ward (Hwange East Constituency).

This milestone was made possible through the efforts of the MP Women’s Quota for Matabeleland North Province, Hon. Francisca Ncube, working hand in hand with the Hwange Rural District Council Chairperson Hon Pascar Mpofu. The initiative is aimed at strengthening digital learning by providing reliable internet access to our learners and educators.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Honourable Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Torerai Moyo, for the support and commitment towards improving education through technology. Your leadership continues to open doors for innovation in our schools.

This development marks a significant step forward in bridging the digital divide in our rural communities. With improved connectivity, our learners can now access a wider range of educational resources, enhancing their skills and preparing them for a technology-driven future.

As Hwange District, we remain hopeful and optimistic that this is just the beginning of many more impactful developments to come. Together, we can build a brighter

🌱 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT UPDATE | NUTRITION GARDEN – CHANGE WARD 20 🌱

The Hwange Rural District Council is pleased to update the Hwange District community on the progress of the Nutrition Garden project currently underway in Change Ward 20.

This important initiative is being implemented by our valued building partner, Moriti Oa Sechaba, in collaboration with Hwange Rural District Council and the local Pongola community.

πŸ’§ Solarized Borehole Installed
To ensure a reliable and sustainable water supply for the garden, the borehole has been successfully solarized. This environmentally friendly solution guarantees consistent access to water, improving productivity throughout the year while reducing operational costs.

🚧 Fencing Installation In Progress
With the support and active participation of the Pongola community, a secure fence is being installed around the garden. This protects crops from livestock and other potential damage, safeguarding the community’s investment and ensuring long-term sustainability.

πŸ₯¬ Fighting Malnutrition Through Nutrition Gardens.
Nutrition gardens play a critical role in strengthening household food security. By promoting the production of diverse and nutritious crops, this project will:
βœ” Improve access to fresh vegetables
βœ” Enhance dietary diversity
βœ” Reduce malnutrition, especially among children and vulnerable groups
βœ” Empower the community through sustainable agriculture

This initiative demonstrates what can be achieved through partnership, community participation, and a shared vision for development.

The Hwange Rural District Council remains committed to supporting projects that improve livelihoods and promote health and well-being across our district.

Together, we grow stronger. 🌿

DISTRICT PATROL UPDATE | HWANGE RURAL DISTRICT COUNCIL 🌿

Hwange Rural District Council wishes to inform residents and stakeholders that Council Rangers are actively conducting routine patrols across the district as part of ongoing efforts to protect our natural resources and promote environmental sustainability.
Routine patrols recently uncovered significant evidence of illegal logging within the '5-mile' sector. While rangers discovered several large caches of harvested timber, the perpetrators had already fled the scene, highlighting the difficulty of monitoring such vast and porous boundaries.

CLEAN-UP INITIATIVES
Central to the Council’s mandate is the preservation of our landscape’s integrity, particularly within high-traffic business sectors. By engaging the business community in hands-on clean-up efforts, the Council is fostering a culture of collective environmental stewardship. This initiative extends beyond commerce; we encourage all residents of Hwange Rural District to maintain their homesteads, ensuring a healthier environment for both current inhabitants and future generations.

The patrols further included visits to local brick-molding sites, where operations were assessed and guidance provided to ensure compliance with environmental and land-use regulations.

⚠️ WARNING TO POACHERS:
Hwange Rural District Council strongly condemns all forms of illegal exploitation of natural resources, including illegal logging, charcoal making, sand poaching. Such activities are unlawful and destructive to our environment. Offenders will face strict enforcement of the law without exception.

🀝 COMMUNITY APPEAL:
We call upon all residents to work hand-in-hand with Council by reporting any form of poaching or illegal harvesting of natural resources. Protecting our environment is a shared responsibility, and your cooperation is vital for the present and future generations of Hwange District.

πŸ“ž Report Environmental Crimes:
Any suspected poaching or environmental violations can be reported to the nearest Council offices or directly to Council Game Rangers.

Together, let us safeguard Hwange’s natural heritage. 🌍🌱
