NYUAD is organizing a public career fair, Startup Career Night 2018, on Thursday, 1 March from 5:30pm - 8:30pm.

The aim of Startup Career Night is to connect talented students from across the UAE with emerging innovative companies that are a part of the UAE startup scene. These companies are hiring for internships and full-time jobs both now and beginning in the next six months.

The American Corner at ALHOSN University celebrated Earth Day 2017 on Wednesday 26 April. Over 50 Students and staff at ALHOSN University visited the Earth Day bazaar. This was the 48th anniversary of Earth Day!

Highlights of the bazaar included upcycled & recycled fabric handbags and purses courtesy of Hmakesbags, hula hoops, natural & vegetable dyed feathered head bands and earrings courtesy of Flowground, yummy cupcakes courtesy of Myra Cake Heaven and earth themed paintings courtesy of Glistening ArtnSoul.

The audience enjoyed a free DIY 100% natural homemade toothpaste and mouthwash Workshops courtesy of UAE Natural Healthy Lifestyle by Mihaela. Mihaela develops her own 100% natural handmade skin Care products.

American Corner marks World Health Day

In partnership with Burjeel Hospital, the American Corner at ALHOSN University marked World Health Day on Tuesday 11 April 2017. The event was a good opportunity to raise awareness on leading a healthy life and making excellent choices when it comes to well-being. Participants had a chance to meet with Ms. Shukri Farah, clinical dietician. Over fifty five participants availed Burjeel Hospital’s free medical check-ups, including free eye tests, Body Mass Index (BMI) and Body Composition Analysis (BCA) tests.

The day concluded with an ergonomics awareness session presented by Physiotherapist, Mr. Mohamed El Sheibini followed by an entertaining laughing yoga workshop presented by Yoga Specialist, Lokesh Hegde.

On Thursday 23rd of March, the American Corner at ALHOSN University celebrated International Day of Happiness for the first time!

Katherine Armstrong, the laughter yoga teacher, skillfully transitioned the group of 15 faculty, staff, former colleague Manda Baltus and guests including Fatema Al Tamemi (TCA) and Leo Legaspi (NYU Alumni) from feeling calm and happy, to lots of laughter and fun.

The group finished with a lovely laughter hug which was hilarious and relaxing at the same time followed by cake and chocolate!

The American Corner of Abu Dhabi City had the chance to breakfast with the Ambassador of the United States of America to the United Arab Emirates Barbara A. Leaf and watch the U.S. election returns on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. Ten students from ALHOSN University joined the Embassy’s Election breakfast event.

The EducationUSA Advisor at the US Embassy, Haya AlSatari gave a session in the American Corner titled “5 Steps to Graduate Studies in the United States” on Monday, November 14th. Over 20 students and staff met with Haya, who seized the occasion of International Education Week to provide a full overview of Education USA services as well as the five key steps to prepare for studying in the United States.

ALHOSNERS at the US Embassy's Election Day breakfast

The EducationUSA Advisor at the US Embassy will be giving a session in the American Corner titled “5 Steps to Graduate Studies in the United States”. Her visit will be on Monday, November 14th at 4:30 p.m. The session will cover the following:
1. Introduction to U.S. Education System
2. EducationUSA Centers and how we can help
3. 5 Steps to U.S. Study
4. Upcoming virtual fair (Nov 16)

The informational session will end with Q&A where students will have the opportunity to ask questions they have on American higher education.
