على مدى سنوات، واجهت سونيا تحديات يومية بسبب مرض تنفسي مزمن أثّر على أبسط تفاصيل حياتها، من المشي والتحدث إلى قضاء الوقت مع عائلتها.

ومع تدهور حالتها الصحية، قادتها رحلتها العلاجية إلى كليفلاند كلينك أبوظبي، حيث خضعت لعملية زراعة رئة شكّلت نقطة تحول في حياتها. وبين لحظات القلق والأمل، ساعدتها الرعاية المتخصصة والدعم المستمر على استعادة قدرتها على التنفس والاستمتاع بالحياة من جديد.

تعكس قصة سونيا الأثر الإنساني للتبرع بالأعضاء، وتجسد كيف تسهم الرعاية الصحية المتقدمة في منح المرضى فرصة جديدة للحياة وتحسين جودة حياتهم. وقد أصبحت هذه الفرصة ممكنة بفضل عطاء المتبرعين بالأعضاء ودعم برنامج «حياة» الوطني للتبرع وزراعة الأعضاء والأنسجة البشرية، وبالتعاون مع دائرة الصحة – أبوظبي التي تواصل تعزيز منظومة التبرع وزراعة الأعضاء بما يمنح المرضى أملاً جديداً وفرصة أفضل للحياة.

For years, Sonia faced daily challenges as a chronic respiratory disease affected even the simplest moments of her life, from walking and talking to spending time with her loved ones.

As her condition progressed, her healthcare journey led her to Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, where she underwent a life-changing lung transplant. Through moments of uncertainty and hope, specialised care and continuous support helped her regain the ability to breathe freely and embrace life once again.

Sonia’s story reflects the profound impact of organ donation and demonstrates how advanced healthcare can give patients a second chance at life while improving their quality of life. This second chance was made possible through the generosity of organ donors and the support of Hayat – The National Programme for Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation, alongside the efforts of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi to advance organ donation and transplantation services and offer renewed hope to patients and their families.

بهذه الرسالة، عبّر معالي منصور إبراهيم المنصوري، رئيس دائرة الصحة – أبوظبي، خلال فعالية “نحتفي بصُنّاع الأثر”، عن تقديره لموظفي الدائرة وفرق عملها الذين ساهموا في حصول الدائرة على المركز الأول ضمن جائزة أبوظبي للأداء الحكومي المتميز، من خلال جهودهم اليومية وعملهم المتكامل لخدمة مجتمع أبوظبي.

With this message, H.E. Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, expressed his appreciation during the “Celebrating the Impact Creators” event to the Department’s employees and teams, whose daily efforts and collective work played a pivotal role in the Department achieving first place at the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance.

H.E. emphasised that excellence is not only an award; it is a culture built every day through dedication, collaboration, and a shared commitment to creating meaningful impact that touches lives and strengthens the future of health in Abu Dhabi.

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi celebrated its employees and teams during the “Impact Creators” event, recognising their efforts in contributing to the Department’s first-place achievement at the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance.

Behind this achievement are teams who created impact long before it was celebrated; through daily efforts, integrated work, and a shared commitment to making every initiative and service a step towards better lives and a healthier Abu Dhabi community.
