On 17 March, His Excellency Tengku Dato’ Sirajuzzaman Tengku Mohamed Ariffin, Ambassador of Malaysia to the United Arab Emirates, met with Dr. Ahmed Alzaabi, Deputy Director of the International Organizations Department at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to discuss both countries’ respective candidatures to international organizations and multilateral bodies, underscoring a shared commitment to strengthening cooperation within the multilateral framework.

Both sides also exchanged views on the regional security situation and its implications for regional and international peace, security and stability. His Excellency conveyed Malaysia’s sympathy and support, while the UAE side expressed appreciation for Malaysia’s supportive stance.

Also in attendance were Ms. Farisha Salman of the Embassy of Malaysia in Abu Dhabi and Ms. Ghalya Al Awadhi from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

REGISTRATION OF INTENT FOR VOLUNTARY REPATRIATION TO MALAYSIA FROM THE UAE 09/03/2026

Dear Fellow Malaysians in the United Arab Emirates,

The Government of Malaysia is currently in the final phase of preparations to implement an evacuation operation for Malaysian citizens in several affected countries in the Middle East. The Embassy is coordinating this operation in close collaboration with the National Security Council (MKN) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (KLN). MKN and KLN will also provide periodic updates on the progress of this operation from time to time.

To assist us in assessing the needs of Malaysians in the UAE and to facilitate planning and coordination, Malaysians in UAE who wish to be included in the planned government-arranged repatriation to Malaysia are requested to complete the evacuation registration form at the link below:

Those who have not yet registered and intend to do so are kindly requested to complete and submit the form by *12:00 pm tomorrow, 10 March 2026*.

Further details on the evacuation arrangements will be conveyed in due course.
