في هذه المناسبة، تقوم الفنانة ميثاء المحيربي بصنع رسمة مستواحاة من فن النسيج التقليدي باستخدام ألوان باهتة تبدو وكأنها سجادة قديمة تعرضت لأشعة الشمس. وهي من خلال العمل تحتفل بفن التطريز والنسيج التقليدي التي يجمع الكثير من الثقافات العالمية.

Wishing you all and our beloved country a joyous 51st National Day.
For this occasion, Artist Maitha Al-Mehairbi was inspired by celebratory tribal tapestry to create this illustration. Using a palette inspired by sun-exposed traditional carpets and sadu patterns, the artist pays through her work an homage to the folkloric art of weaving that unites many cultures.
Maitha Al Mehairbi is an Abu Dhabi-based artist and researcher. She is also an alum of the Salma bint Hamdan Emerging Artist Fellowship Cohort 2 2015

نهنئ المرأة الإماراتية ونساء الإمارات على إنجازاتهن وسعيهن المستمر في العطاء لهذا الوطن.
تشاركنا الفنانة نهله الطباع هذا العمل الفني المطرز والذي يعمل كساعة شمسية، حيث كل لون وطبقة من النسيج تمثل وقتاً معيناً من ساعات الظهيرة. لإنجاز هذا العمل، قامت نهله بالانتظار حتى يتشكل ظلاً لأشعة الشمس من وراء شجرة على قطعة القماش ونسج تلك الأظلال في كل مرحلة من التغيير — وهي عملية تحتاج للصبر والتأمل وفي الآن ذاته تحتاج السرعة في ملاحقة الوقت. هذا العمل الشاق يصور لنا بشكل مثالي الممارسات النسائية الفلكلورية والتي طالما احتاجت إلى التأني، والعمل الشاق، وخفة اليد والحركة في إنجازها.
نهله الطباع هي فنانة ومعلمة تقيم في دبي تحمل شهادة البكالريوس في النحت من جامعة سنترال سينت مارتينز والماجستير في التنظيم الفني من جامعة باث للفنون والتصميم. كما هي من خريجي منحة سلامة بنت حمدان للفنانين الناشئين دفعة 8 2021.

Artist Nahla Al Tabbaa () shares with us this embroidered artwork which acts as a sundial, with each layer and colour representing a time in the afternoon under the sun. To accomplish this work, Al Tabbaa patiently awaited each shift in time to quickly stitch and depict the sun filtering through a tree; a process that is both slow and meditative, as well as quick and fleeting. This labour-intensive work is a perfect homage to female-dominated folkloric practices — processes that often require delicacy, patience, and laborious effort.
Nahla Al Tabbaa is an artist and educator based in Dubai. She earned her BFA in Sculpture from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design and an MA in Curatorial Practice from the Bath School of Art and Design. She is also an alumna of the Salama bin Hamdan Emerging Artist Fellowship Cohort 8 2021

بمناسبة السنة الهجرية الجديدة، يشاركنا الفنان ناصر نصرالله هذا العمل الفني والذي يتميز برسومات مرحة تحتوي على دلالات ثقافية متعددة. كما يتحلى العمل بطابع سيريالي حيث يقوم الفنان بالتلاعب بأشكال وقياسات الأشياء ووضعها في تجاورات غير مؤلوفة — تنتج بتركيبة سحرية قد تسترد لنا ذكريات طفولة، أو ثقافة شعبية قديمة، أو حنين للماضي.
ناصر نصرالله هو فنان وقيم فني من مدينة الشارقة يحمل شهادة البكالوريوس في هندسة الاتصالات من جامعة خليفة الشارقة. كما هو مؤسس “مرسم الساحل” وهي مساحة فنية مشتركة للفنانين تشجع على تنمية وصقل ممارساتهم الفنية
In celebration of the Hijri New Year, artist Nasir Nasrallah () creates a playful illustration using an assemblage of culturally inspired iconography. Nasrallah’s work evokes a surrealist charm through his play on scale and curious compositions -- A collage that is reminiscent of childhood memories, retro popular culture, and an overall nostalgia for the bygone.
Nasir Nasrallah is a visual artist and curator from Sharjah with a BA in Communication Engineering from Khalifa University Sharjah. In 2019, he founded “Marsam Al Sahel”, an art space for emerging artists to grow and develop their practice.
