بمناسبة الأسبوع العالمي للأرشيف، الذي يُقام هذا العام تحت شعار "الأرشيف من أجل العدالة"، نحتفي بالدور المحوري الذي يؤديه الأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية في توثيق التراث الإنساني وصون الذاكرة الوطنية، بما يعكس عمق الهوية الوطنية، ويجسد قيم الانتماء، ويبرز ثراء التاريخ الإماراتي وأصالته.

ويتجسد هذا الدور بجمع الوثائق التاريخية وحفظها وفق أعلى المعايير العالمية، بما يضمن استدامتها كمصدر موثوق يوثق الماضي العريق، ويسهم في فهم الحاضر واستشراف المستقبل، ويعزز الأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية الوعي بأهمية الوثائق ودورها الأساسي في ترسيخ العدالة وحفظ الحقوق.

The NLA: A Continuous Journey in Safeguarding Rights and Supporting Justice

On the occasion of International Archives Week, held this year under the theme “Archives for Justice: Rights, Memory & Futures”, the National Library and Archives celebrates its pivotal role in documenting human heritage and preserving the nation’s memory. This reflects the depth of national identity, embodies the values of belonging and highlights the richness and authenticity of Emirati history.

This role is reflected in the collection and preservation of historical documents according to the highest international standards, ensuring their sustainability as a reliable source that records a rich past, contributes to understanding the present and anticipates the future. The NLA also promotes awareness of the importance of documents and their fundamental role in establishing justice and safeguarding rights.

يحتفي الأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية بالأسبوع العالمي للأرشيف، الذي يُقام هذا العام خلال الفترة من 8 إلى 12 يونيو 2026، تحت شعار "الأرشيف من أجل العدالة: الحقوق والذاكرة والمستقبل"، مبرزًا دوره في نشر الثقافة الوثائقية بين مختلف شرائح المجتمع، توثيق الماضي وصون السجلات الوطنية.

ويأتي هذا الاحتفاء تأكيدًا لأهمية الوثائق التاريخية في حفظ الذاكرة الجماعية، تعزيز الشعور بالانتماء، ونقل إرث الإمارات للأجيال القادمة.

The National Library and Archives celebrates International Archives Week, held from 8 to 12 June 2026 under the theme “Archives for Justice: Rights, Memory & Futures”. The event highlights its role in promoting documentary culture across different segments of society, documenting the past and safeguarding national records.

This celebration reaffirms the importance of historical documents in preserving collective memory, strengthening a sense of belonging and passing on the UAE’s heritage to future generations.

كتاب "أبوظبي قبل عام 1971"، الذي أصدره الأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية، يتضمَّن مجموعة من الصور النادرة التي توثِّق ملامح الحياة اليومية في مرحلة انتقالية سبقت اكتشاف النفط، ما يسهم في إثراء المعرفة بتراث وتقاليد المجتمع الإماراتي.⁣

The National Library and Archives has launched Abu Dhabi Before 1971, a book produced in collaboration with publishing house Assouline documenting key aspects of Abu Dhabi society prior to the establishment of the UAE through a curated collection of rare photographs.

The National Library and Archives has enhanced global access to the Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Hall through a virtual experience, enabling visitors to explore archival materials documenting the life, national journey and contributions to the UAE’s development of one of the late Sheikh Zayed’s companions.

قاعة الشيخ سرور بن محمد، في الأرشيف والمكتبة الوطنية، استقبلت أكثر من 9,000 زائر خلال عام 2025، ما يعكس اهتمام الجمهور بالتعرُّف إلى المحطات المضيئة في تاريخ الوطن ورموزه البارزة. القاعة تحتضن أوسمة ودروعاً وهدايا تكريمية، إلى جانب صور أصلية من أرشيفات خاصة.

Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Hall, part of The National Library and Archives, welcomed more than 9,000 visitors in 2025, highlighting public interest in the nation’s history and its iconic figures, with displays including medals, commemorative shields and original photographs from private archives.

The National Library and Archives extends its warmest wishes on the occasion of Eid Al Adha, praying that it brings you goodness, blessings and prosperity.

The NLA also shares a historic photograph of The Late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, receiving well-wishers on Eid Al Adha in Al Ain on 21 October 1980.
