أتمت مجموعة من طلبة الطب البيطري من جامعة الإمارات برنامجاً تدريبياً متخصصاًفي المركز الوطني لبحوث الطيور، ركز على المتطلبات التشغيلية لصونالطيور. انتقل التدريب من الجانب النظري إلى معالجة المجالات التقنيةالأساسية:
الأمن الحيوي: تطبيق خط الدفاع الأول لحماية الطيور.
الطب الوقائي: إدارة برامج التطعيم والمراقبة لضمان صحة مجموعات الطيور.
الاستدامة: تطبيق البروتوكولات الطبية التي تدعم التوازن البيئي على المدى الطويل.
A group of UAEU veterinary students recently completed a specialized internship at NARC, focusing on the operational requirements of avian conservation. The training moved beyond theory to address core technical areas:
Biosecurity: Implementing the first line of defense in bird protection.
Preventive Care: Managing vaccination and surveillance to ensure population health.
Sustainability: Applying medical protocols that support long-term ecosystem balance.

في إطار التزامنا بتعزيز التعاون الدولي في صون الأنواع المهددة بالانقراض، يواصل الصندوق شراكته الاستراتيجية مع جمهورية الهند منذ عام 2019 لدعم برامج إكثار طائرالحبارى الهندية الكبيرة. أسفر هذا التعاون عن تفريخ 36 فرخاً، ووضع 20 بيضة ضمن برامج الإكثار، إلى جانب إدارة قطيع يضم 29 طائراً ضمن منظومة علمية متكاملة للحفاظعلى هذا النوع الفريد.
As part of its commitment to international collaboration, IFHC has partnered with the Republic of India since 2019 to support the conservation of the Great Indian Bustard. This partnership has resulted in 36 chicks hatched, 20 eggs laid in captivity, and a managed breeding flock of 29 birds within an integrated, science-led framework dedicated to protecting this critically endangered species.

لا يقتصر التعاون الدولي على الاتفاقيات، بل يشمل تنسيقاً ميدانياً وعلمياً متواصلاً عبر نطاق انتشار الحبارى.
تشمل هذه الجهود:
• تتبع الطيور لدراسة أنماط الهجرة وتحديد مواقعها الحيوية
• حماية مناطق التكاثر والإشتاء بالتعاون مع الجهات المحلية
• تبادل البيانات والخبرات العلمية لدعم اتخاذ القرار
• جمع المواد الوراثية المرجعية لتعزيز برامج الإكثار
يُسهم هذا التكامل في بناء قاعدة علمية موحدة تدعم استدامة الحبارى على المدى الطويل.
International cooperation goes beyond agreements, involving continuous scientific and field coordination across the houbara’s range.
These efforts include:
• Tracking birds to understand migration patterns and key habitats
• Protecting breeding and wintering sites with local partners
• Exchanging scientific data and expertise to support decision-making
• Collecting genetic reference materials to strengthen breeding programmes
This integrated approach builds a unified scientific foundation to support the species’ long-term sustainability

In the first quarter of the year, IFHC continued advancing its programmes across scientific research, education, and institutional collaboration, reflecting an integrated approach to conservation.
Key highlights included:
Academic and research engagement with the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (CAVM)
• Hosting UAE University students at NARC to explore breeding and research facilities
Delivering educational programmes in collaboration with the Mohamed bin Zayed Falconry School and the Ministry of Education
• Publishing scientific findings and research outputs supporting houbara conservation

اختُتمت مشاركة الصندوق الدولي للحفاظ على الحبارى في أسبوع كلية الزراعة والطب البيطري بجامعة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، حيث استعرض فريق الصندوق الجوانب البيطرية والعلمية المرتبطة ببرامج إكثار الحبارى وصحتها، مع تبادل معرفي مثمر مع الطلبة والمهتمين بالمجال البيطري.
تعكس هذه المشاركة أهمية التعاون الأكاديمي ودور البحث العلمي في دعم جهود الحفاظ على الحبارى واستدامة التنوع البيولوجي.
IFHC concluded its participation in the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine Week at UAEU, where the team highlighted the veterinary and scientific aspects of houbara breeding and health programs, while engaging with students and aspiring veterinary professionals.
Such initiatives reinforce the role of academic collaboration and science in advancing conservation and biodiversity sustainability.

ضمن مشاركة الصندوق الدولي للحفاظ على الحبارى في أسبوع كلية الزراعة والطب البيطري بجامعة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، تم استعراض الإجراءات المختبرية البيطرية وآليات التشخيص المخبري والفحوصات الميكروبيولوجية المعتمدة لدعم برامج الإكثار وفق أسس علمية.
كما شكلت المشاركة فرصة لطالبات الجامعة للاطلاع على جهود الصندوق في مجال الحفاظ على الحبارى مع التركيز على الطب البيطري وصحة طيور الحبارى في برامج الحفاظ على الأنواع. ويدعو الصندوق الطلبة المهتمين إلى زيارة جناحه في B3 للتعرّف على الجوانب التطبيقية للطب البيطري في مجال الحفاظ على الحبارى.
During IFHC’s participation at UAEU– , veterinary laboratory protocols and microbiological diagnostics supporting breeding programmes were presented.
Students gained insight into IFHC’s veterinary work and applied conservation practices. Interested students are invited to visit the IFHC stand in B3 to learn more about practical veterinary applications in conservation.
