Dubai visitors with expired visas BEFORE March 1, 2020, need to report to the deportation center near Terminal 2 if they wish to leave the country.
Visitors will get their fingerprints taken along with that they need to bring a valid passport or travel documents, according to the UAE Government.
In light of COVID-19, the UAE authorities had stated that visa violation fines will be waived for anyone whose visas have expired before March 1, as long as they head back to their home countries before August 18.
The reason the procedures have been moved to the deportation center is simply due to the larger space available to keep health and safety in mind.
UAE residents who have expired visa residency before March 1, 2020, must buy a 1-way ticket and head to the airport with their passport.
Therefore, in addition to the UAE saying they will waive fines, residents have different rules. To avoid the fines residents must also pay a visit to the deportation center near Terminal 2 at least 48 hours before departure.
According to Al Qusais Police Station, the visitors at the deportation center in terminal 2 have tent facilities, rest areas, and handing out masks to make sure precaution is taken.
To enhance the service and make it less of a hassle, Dubai Police has added more fingerprint devices to make sure the procedures go smoothly. These are quite useful considering the number of people that will be present at the facility.

Requirements for tourists to Dubai:
Travel insurance:
Tourists must have a travel insurance with Covid-19 cover or declare that they would bear the costs for treatment and isolation if required. "Bring an insurance certificate stating Covid-19 coverage to present at check-in," Emirates said.
Visa:
Referring to visa requirements, Emirates said: "Depending on your nationality you can get a visa on arrival, or you can apply for your visit visa from Dubai Immigration before you travel."
Health Declaration Form:
Tourists need to complete the form that states they are free from Covid-19 symptoms. This must be done before embarking.
Tracing app:
Tourists must download the Covid-19 DXB app and register details. "This is critically important since it facilitates easy coordination and communication with the health authorities if tourists experience Covid-19 symptoms," Dubai authorities had said earlier.
Tourists with Covid-19 symptoms:
> If a traveler is suspected to have Covid-19 symptoms, Dubai Airports has the right to re-test to ensure the tourist is free of the virus
> It is mandatory for Covid-positive tourists to isolate themselves at an institutional facility provided by the government for 14 days at their own expense.

UAE long-term visa: Five-year visa cost as little as Dh650; ten-year visa for Dh1,150 only
UAE government announces charges for new long-term and multi-entry visas
Dubai: Long-term UAE residency visas with 10-year validity, which were rolled out earlier this year, can now be obtained for as low as Dh1,150 while the five-year-visa will cost only Dh650, the UAE government announced on Sunday.
According to eligibility criteria announced earlier, investors in public investment or senior professionals working with the investors as well as exceptional talents and researchers in various domains qualify for the 10-year visas.
Investors and professionals falling in the approved categories can apply to issue or renew the 10-year visa for Dh1,150 (Dh150 for the application and Dh1,000 for issuance). Family members of the applicants can also avail 10 years’ visas at the same cost.
Last week, two Indian business leaders in Dubai became the first Indian expatriates to receive 10-year UAE resident visas.
Vasu Shroff, chairman of the Regal Group of Companies, and Khushi Khatwani, managing director of the Khushi Group of Companies and Al Nisr Cinema Film, became the first Indians to benefit from the long-term visa scheme. Their families also received the new long-term visas.
"Very affordable"
Speaking to Gulf News, Vasu Shroff said that the visa charges are affordable compared to other developed countries.
“I paid Dh1,350 for each visa, including service charges. This is very affordable for a 10-year visa. In the UK the multi-entry visa costs around Dh5,000. This is a great initiative by the government to retain and attract investors and this has made our lives easier and hassle-free,” said Shroff, who is a Dubai resident since 1960.
Shroff added that he got long-term visas for all 11 members of his family, including his wife, children and grandchildren.
“All my family members benefited from this facility, we all got the visas. The service was great, we got the visas issued within 10 minutes, it was very quick, fastest service I have ever seen in my life. It was just a visa swap, they checked our passports, cancelled the old visas and issued the new ones,” said Shroff.
The 10-year visa scheme was rolled out in January and some Arab scientists and experts in the medical field were the first ones to receive it.
Five-year visa
Meanwhile, the authorities also announced the cost of five-year visas, which will be issued for D650 (Dh150 for application and Dh500 for issuance).
Those eligible for five year visas include investors in real estate, entrepreneurs, executive directors of entrepreneurs and retired expatriate professionals as well as their family members. Top achievers among students with exceptional talents and their family members can also get the five-year visas at Dh650.
Children sponsored by their parents after completing 18 years or after finishing high school or university can apply for one-year renewable visa at Dh100.
Widows and divorced women and their children can also extend their one-year residency visas for Dh100. These two categories will be charged Dh100 for the issuance of the visa while no application cost will be charged.
The authorities also announced fee details for single and mult-entry visas for exceptional talents and researchers in various sectors. Both single and multi-entry visas valid for 180 days will cost Dh1,100 (Dh100 for the application and Dh1000 for issuance).
