Travelers to the Kingdom are required to respect the Islamic customs and traditions and should be sensitive to culture of the country. Un-canned or perishable food items are not allowed to be carried into the country. All alcoholic beverages, narcotics and other illegal drugs, pornographic materials or publications which violate social norms of decency and publications, which are disrespectful of any religious belief or political orientation, are prohibited. Violation of these rules can invite harsh penalties. The crime of smuggling narcotics and other illegal drugs into the Kingdom is punishable by the death penalty.

Know your visa category: Personal visit visa is issued for personal visits such as attending a wedding or function or visiting a friend. Applicants who had an appointment but did not submit the application at the Visa Services Center on the appointment date (and did not cancel the appointment prior to the appointment date), may schedule a new appointment immediately in an upgraded appointment category (Lounge) for up to 07 days from the original appointment date.

The Biometrics Enrolment Officer will request each Applicant to look into the CCTV camera for a period of 5 seconds. This process has been developed to ensure effective identification of each individual submitting biometrics information at the Visa Service Center.

Know your visa category: Transit visa is issued for individuals transiting through the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by land, air, or marine borders. The transit time should not exceed 72 hours (3 days), and a confirmed ticket is required for the purpose of this visa.
