On the Slovenian National Day, Janez Dovč will perform a special musical-visual story, built around the verse “May all nations live”.
The program will take us on a journey from the Neanderthal flute to contemporary sounds – a blend of landscapes, folk heritage, and modern music.

He will be joined on stage by:

🎶 Žigan Krajnčan – vocals and dance
🎶 7 members of the Slovenian Armed Forces Orchestra

🌍✨ KRANJ AT EXPO 2025 OSAKA ✨🌍
Inspiring Solutions for Sustainable Communities

The City of Kranj is proudly representing Slovenia as the only Slovenian project selected for the TEAM EXPO pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Osaka!

In collaboration with Artkontakt Studio Bast, the Olympic Committee of Slovenia (OKS), and the Photographic Association of Slovenia (FZS), Kranj is presenting a creative and forward-looking project that promotes sustainability through sport, art, and photography.

Out of hundreds of international entries, only 57 projects from 16 countries were selected.

Today, the artists brought their colorful, playful vision to the Slovenia Pavilion as part of their EU photo project at the Expo! 📸🎈

Staff – and even a few visitors – became part of the Happy Heads universe, photographed in iconic corners of the pavilion.

Due to yesterday’s typhoon prediction, Slovenia — together with the entire Common C community — was honored to welcome Armenia to host their celebration on our central stage.

We had the pleasure of witnessing a beautiful Armenian alphabet calligraphy masterclass led by the talented Ruben Malayan — a true expression of culture, art, and connection.

This is what the spirit of EXPO is all about: friendship, collaboration, and mutual support. 💫

On 23 August, the musical Peace Child premiered in Ljubljana, Slovenia 🇸🇮. At EXPO 2025 Osaka, we marked this occasion with a special screening at both the Slovenian Pavilion and the United Nations Pavilion, sharing its message of peace with our visitors in Japan.

The production united young artists from 20 different countries, telling a moving story inspired by Papua New Guinea, where reconciliation between warring tribes was achieved through the exchange of so-called “children of peace.” The project has the honorary patronage of H.E. Mrs Tanja Fajon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia, who underlined the importance of youth voices in shaping our common future.

Mr Maher Nasser, Assistant Secretary-General and Commissioner-General of the United Nations at Expo 2025 in Osaka, emphasized that music knows no borders and has the power to unite people — a message the world needs now more than ever. 💚

We had the honor of welcoming Her Imperial Highness Princess 👑 Takamado to the 🇸🇮 Slovenian Pavilion.

She has a close connection to Slovenia through her love of skiing and a long-standing family friendship. It was a privilege to share our culture, innovation, and mountain spirit with such a distinguished guest.

Today at Commons-C, the University of Maribor wowed visitors with “Creating a Better Future with Advanced Cellular Metamaterials”.

From 3D-printed prototypes to cutting-edge modelling, guests explored how these next-gen materials can be lighter, stronger, and more sustainable. ⚙️

Researchers showcased real-world applications, from graded structures to innovative testing methods. A fascinating glimpse into the future of engineering! 🌍
