Jebel Jais is the tallest mountain in the United Arab Emirates at about 1,910 m, with its highest point about 350 m east of the border between Oman and United Arab Emirates at an altitude of 1,925 m (6,315 feet). Temperatures as low as -3 degrees Celsius have been measured at the top of the mountain in winter, with plans in place to build a hotel, cable car, paragliding launch ramp, golf course and ski slope following the opening of a road scaling the mountain from Ras Al-Khaimah.

Golden hour hits different from the mountains 🌅

Ras Al Khaimah has been ranked 12th in the world for golden hour in Kuoni’s 2026 ranking, and from the heights of Jebel Jais, it’s easy to see why.

As the last light moves across the Hajar Mountains, the landscape shifts through shades of gold, orange and red, creating one of Ras Al Khaimah’s most dramatic ways to end the day.
