The Sharjah Investment Forum is one of the leading investment conference and exhibition events in the MENA region. uST Technology is presented at the Congress in Spain: a memorandum is signed with Peace City World
The capabilities of uST Transport and Infrastructure Solutions were demonstrated at the 23rd Peace City World Congress that took place in Spain. The focus of discussion was advanced technologies that will help organize effective communication in smart cities.
Oleg Zaretsky, a representative of the uSky Test and Certification Centre, located in Sharjah (UAE), became one of the invited speakers of the event. He introduced the guests to the problems that arise during the construction of smart and eco-friendly cities, as well as how these problems can be solved through the introduction of UST Inc.’s Technology.

Why do the string rail overpass and cableway belong to fundamentally different transport systems?
uST Solutions are superior to the alternatives available on the modern market in terms of mobility and energy efficiency. Although uPods move on the second level, it is a mistake to compare them with cableways. A colossal difference is visible when comparing the technologies and features of two transport systems in detail.
- Under equal conditions, the cost of uST route construction will be up to 50% of the cost of cableway construction.
- The speed of uPods can reach 150 km/h, while the speed maximum for a cableway is 40 km/h.

Test Track 4: inspection report of intermediate supports by TUV SW
Intermediate supports, to layman’s eyes, are simple metal structures with simple look, and at first glance they do not show any uniqueness. However, from technical point of view, this is the kind of structure to experience a complex combination of loads, it is subject to the highest requirements for strength, durability, sound insulation, strength for vertical and wind, static and dynamic loads, vibration and corrosion resistance.
With such a set of requirements, one obviously has to exercise control at every step of manufacturing, assembly and installation of the structure, from laying foundations to installation of supports, which the string-rail track structure stands on. And this work culminates with issuance of the quality certificate. Earlier we already released a post about the certificate obtained for Intermediate Supports.

Solutions for improving the aerodynamics of uPods are presented
“Innovative Transport” has published an article on the aerodynamics of uST Transport. The article in detail describes a uFlash – a high-speed uPod with unique aerodynamic characteristics. Among the authors of the publication is the General Designer of UST Inc. Anatoli Unitsky.
An article on optimizing the aerodynamic characteristics of a high-speed uPod was prepared with the participation of employees of Unitsky String Technologies Inc.: Sergey Artyushevsky, Mikhail Tsyrlin and Vladimir Goncharov.
The material presents technical solutions aimed at improving the aerodynamics of uST Transport. In addition, it describes the design features of UST Inc. high-speed models, as well as their advantages in terms of aerodynamics and ergonomics.
uFlash is designed for transportation between cities, as well as for international traffic. A high-speed uPod is capable of speeds up to 500 km/h. For example, it will cover the distance from Minsk to Paris in 4-5 hours. This is even faster than by plane if you add up the flight duration and time you need to get to the airport, to check-in and go through other pre-flight and post-flight procedures. uFlash has a streamlined body with smoothly mating front, middle and rear sections. At the same time, transition couplings are built according to special curves, which are the know-how of the company. The model was first presented in 2018 at the major international transport exhibition Innotrans in Berlin.

Test Track 4: track structure lifting operation stage complete
An event took place on the uSky Test & Certification Center, which is simply impossible to pass by. Yet another stage of the string-rail transport overpass installation for Test Track 4 has been completed. And, perhaps, this might have been nothing remarkable, if not for the one thing: we have completed the stage of lifting the entire string-rail track structure!
This uplifting was carried out in several stages under continuous control of engineers and supervisors. The whole prestressed structure, over 2,200 meters long and weighing over 300 tons, was lifted up to 15-meter height in just a few days. And no matter how colossal it may sound, only 3 employees were engaged in this lifting process.

Unique World Experience: The Elevation Phase of the Track Structure at the uSky Test & Certification Centre Was Completed
The linear structure over 2 km long was elevated at the test track located at the uSky Test & Certification Centre in Sharjah. This marked the completion of the track structure construction phase in the Transport & Infrastructure Complex No. 4.
The elevation of the 2 km long solid structure is unique because similar work has not been performed anywhere else in the world until now. The length of the overpass is more than two and a half kilometers, including the unstressed section, which will allow the rolling stock to start from ground level. The unique world experience in elevating the track structure rail with such length will enable to arrange passenger and cargo transportation at a speed up to 150 km/h.
The heavy string rail overpass is designed to carry rolling stock up to 60 tons. This will allow the 25-seater uBus, which can be assembled into trains with a capacity of up to 75 people, and the container ship uCont with a capacity of up to 25 tons – the new, fifth generation of heavy uBuses – to reach high speeds.

uSky Transport continues to build relationships with educational institutions around the world, and invites future professionals from various fields of science to get acquainted with the innovative uSky Transport & Infrastructure Technology. This time around, uSky Test & Certification Center hosted an engrossing tour for SRM University AP engineering students from India with support from Ureka Education as part of the Global Immersion Program UAE 2023.
Ureka Education is a tertiary education provider established in London in 2014 by a group of Sloan Fellows from London Business School. Ureka is the largest provider of experiential learning programs in the IMEA region in terms of content & coverage.
Global Immersion Programme includes visits to corporate headquarters and manufacturing facilities, as well as meetings with executives and government officials to learn about international business from those experiencing it firsthand in the country. One of the integral steps in creating the uSky rail-string transport overpass is integrating the uSky transport complex into the environment.
On the one hand, the complex must perform the functions. There are always requirements from the customer in terms of passenger capacity, speed, safety, logistics, etc. On the other hand, the complex naturally becomes an element of urban infrastructure or part of natural landscape. And here we should take into account lots of factors.
In the modern world, land is very expensive, thus the requirement for a minimum land allotment. Most often, the customer wants to relieve traffic on public roads, in that case, the construction of the rail-string transport overpass takes place in dense building environment. Often, there is requirement to connect two banks of a large river, and this inevitably leads to extension of overpass spans, which leads to massive anchoring supports and high intermediate supports.
