Long before the modern world, Arab and Muslim scholars charted the heavens and recorded their discoveries in manuscripts that would outlive empires and generations. Today, House of Wisdom at the Warsaw International Book Fair 2026 revisits that remarkable legacy of knowledge, bridging the distance between past discoveries and future possibilities.

سعدنا باستضافة جلسة حوارية بعنوان “تراث حيّ: دور المؤسسات الثقافية في صون التراث” ضمن محطة الشارقة من برنامج “من المتحف إلى المجتمع: حوار ثقافي حي بين إمارات الدولة”، الذي نظمه متحف زايد الوطني في بيت ⠀
الحكمة.⠀

التنفيذية لبيت الحكمة، ونصرة البوعينين، مدير إدارة التعلم والمشاركة العامة في متحف زايد الوطني، وأدارتها آمنة الحمادي، حيث أكدت المتحدثتان أهمية دور المؤسسات الثقافية في صون تراث دولة الإمارات وهويتها الوطنية عبر تثقيف أجيال المستقبل وتعزيز الوعي بالقيم ⠀
والتاريخ والعادات والتقاليد الوطنية.⠀

We were delighted to host the panel discussion “Living Heritage: The Role of Cultural Institutions in Preserving Heritage” as part of the Sharjah stop of “From Museum to Society: A Living Cultural Dialogue Across the Emirates,” organised by Zayed National Museum at the House of Wisdom (HoW).⠀

The session featured Marwa Al Aqroubi, Executive Director of HoW, and Nassra Al Buainain, Learning and Public Engagement Department Director at Zayed National Museum, moderated by Amna Al Hammadi. The discussion highlighted the vital role of cultural institutions in preserving the UAE’s heritage and national identity, by educating future generations and strengthening awareness of national values, history, customs, and traditions.

على هامش المشاركة في معرض وارسو الدولي للكتاب 2026 ضمن وفد الشارقة ضيف شرف المعرض، قام بيت الحكمة بزيارة إلى المتحف الوطني في وارسو، تجول خلالها في عدد من أقسام المتحف واطلع على مجموعات فنية وتاريخية توثق محطات من التاريخ والفن والثقافة الأوروبية والبولندية عبر العصور، إلى جانب مقتنيات من الفنون الشرقية والإسلامية. كما شملت الزيارة اجتماعاً مع مسؤولي المتحف، جرى خلاله بحث فرص التبادل الثقافي مع بيت الحكمة، واستكشاف إمكانيات التعاون المستقبلي بين الجانبين.⠀

On the sidelines of its participation in the 2026 Warsaw International Book Fair as part of Sharjah’s Guest of Honour delegation, House of Wisdom visited the National Museum in Warsaw, where the team toured several sections and explored rich artistic and historical collections that illuminate key chapters of European and Polish history, art, and culture across the ages, alongside works of Eastern and Islamic art. The visit also featured a meeting with museum officials, during which both sides exchanged views on strengthening cultural exchange with House of Wisdom and explored promising avenues for future collaboration.

احتفلنا في بيت الحكمة بيوم الكاتب الإماراتي من خلال فعالية “كُتّابُنا”، التي شهدت جلسات توقيع كتب ومعرضاً مصغراً للكتاب، أتاح للجمهور فرصة الاطلاع على مجموعة متنوعة من الإصدارات الأدبية واقتنائها.⠀
كما أتاحت الفعالية مساحة للتواصل المباشر مع الكتّاب، والتعرّف إلى تجاربهم عن قرب، في أجواء ثقافية حية جمعت بين الكلمة وقرّائها، واحتفت بالقراءة والكتابة بوصفهما جزءًا من المشهد الإبداعي الإماراتي.⠀

We celebrated Emirati Writer’s Day at House of Wisdom through the “Our Writers” event, which featured book signing sessions and a mini book fair, offering the public the opportunity to explore and purchase a diverse selection of literary works.⠀
The event also created a space for direct engagement with authors, allowing visitors to discover their journeys up close, in a vibrant cultural atmosphere that brought together words and readers, and celebrated reading and writing as an integral part of the UAE’s creative landscape.

لكل بلد طريقته في الاحتفال، لكن العيد دائمًا يعرف كيف يجمع الناس حول نفس الشعور. فرح، لقاءات، وذكريات تُصنع كل عام من جديد. عيدكم مبارك! ⠀
