Aschiana is an Afghan non governmental, non profit organization assisting thousands of vulnerable and street working children in Afghanistan.
ASCHIANA (Afghanistan’s children- A New Approach) is an Afghan NGO staffed and headed by Afghan nationals and registered with the Ministry of Economy. The organization’s mission is to assist the thousands of war-affected street working children and distressed families in Afghanistan in order to ensure a positive and productive future. ASCHIANA has close links with Terre des Homes (TDH), the Child
Rights Consortium (CRC), and several other NGOs promoting the rights of street working children in Afghanistan. ASCHIANA also has work protocols with the Ministry of Women Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Interior Affairs and Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs Martyrs and Disabled. ASCHIANA is not only concentrates on child based services but organizing multi-dimension approach considering socio-economic opportunities for the children’s families while promoting access to basic services, especially education for children and their reintegration into the community. Building linkages within the community and stakeholders is crucial to prevent street children from getting lured into conflict with the law. ASCHIANA is active member of national and international networks and alines working for child rights, child protection and peace. The national neworks are Child protection action networks (CPAN) Afghan civil society organization for peace ( ACSONP) and Extremely vulnerable individual (EVI). International networks and alliance are South Asian Alliance for Grassroots NGOs (SAAGN) and South Asia Initiative to End Violence against Children – SAIEVAC.
