In less than a week, the Family and Social Services will be welcoming the 3rd cohort to the Aggression Replacement Training (ART). This program is a cognitive-behavioral intervention that focuses on adolescents, training them to cope with their aggression and violent behavior. It is a multimodal program that has three component: Social skills, anger control training and moral reasoning.
Social Skills Training teaches participants what to do, helping them replace anti-social behavior with positive alternatives
Anger Control teaches participants what not to do, helping them respond to anger in a nonaggressive manner and rethink anger provoked situations.
Moral Reasoning helps raise participants' level of fairness, justice, and concern for the needs and rights of others.
This program is a ten (10) weeks program that is held three(3) times a week at our office.
At this point, we only offer this program to children who have been in contact with the law or under our supervision.
