📍 In Podgorica and Skopje, the EUth Negotiators of the Future Forum brought young people from across the Western Balkans together to learn how EU accession works and to practise negotiation and compromise.

🟢 The aim was to prepare a new generation of informed, confident voices to shape our region’s path towards EU membership, while building the cross-border connections that make that path possible.

🤝 The forums were organized by Strategers Instiutute in Skopje and Partners, the NVO Centar za omladinsku edukaciju in Podgorica, Partners Albania for Change and Development in Tirana and ReSPA – Regional School for Public Administration, as part of the WBF-EU Joint Action.

🎬 This week, another WBF Matching Grant project took the stage in Kotor!

The 7th International Film Festival “Uhvati Film – Kotor” brought together filmmakers, audiences and young people around four days of film, dialogue and exchange, promoting inclusion, accessibility and the rights and potential of persons with disabilities through culture.

With films from across Europe and beyond, workshops, discussions and a Youth Jury featuring students from Kotor, the Festival once again showed how culture can open perspectives, challenge barriers and create space for voices that deserve to be heard.

🤝 We are proud to have supported this initiative through the WBF Matching Grants, helping regional ideas move from paper to the stage, the screen and the communities they are designed to reach.

And more are coming.

Earlier this month, five new Matching Grants were awarded, bringing another group of regional initiatives closer to implementation.

But the door to new opportunities remains wide open.

🇪🇺 12 days remain to apply for the Empowering Regional Cooperation (ERC) Grant Scheme, offering organisations across the Western Balkans grants of up to €25,000 for projects that strengthen regional cooperation.

💶 Grant support: up to €25,000 per project

🍏 There is no age, border or limit to taking responsibility for the environment we share.

☘️ On World Cleanup Day, the “Let’s Clean the Western Balkans” initiative landed in Durrës, bringing together nearly 30 activists from across the region for three days of exchange, learning and, most importantly, action.

💪 Supported through the WBF–EU Joint Action, the initiative reflects one of our key priorities: strengthening regional cooperation around a greener, cleaner and more sustainable Western Balkans.

🫵 Alongside workshops, discussions and working sessions on environmental action, volunteer engagement and community mobilisation, participants took their commitment beyond the conference room and onto the beach of Durrës, joining forces for a cleanup action.

✅ The initiative will continue across the Western Balkans, connecting activists, organisations and communities and helping turn local environmental action into a stronger regional movement.

This regional partnership is formed off:
🔘 Let's cleen Kosovo in Prishtina
🔘 Go Green Skopje
🔘 Green Line Albania in Tirana

🇪🇺 The Grant for Grassroots Initiatives (GGI) is co-funded by the Western Balkans Fund and the European Union, as part of the WBF–EU Joint Action.

To became our next Regional Champion, you can apply now at the currently open Call of the ERC Grant Scheme
