The Institute for Albanian Municipalities (IAM), represented by its Executive Director, Agron Haxhimali, participated in the FOLOU Final Event in Barcelona, bringing together European institutions, researchers, and stakeholders to discuss practical solutions for reducing food losses in primary production.
During the panel “Multi-stakeholder Perspectives on Food Loss,” moderated by Nancy Peña from the BETA Technological Centre, Agron Haxhimali joined representatives from Italy, the Netherlands, Catalonia, and Albania to exchange experiences, challenges, and good practices.
IAM presented the Albanian perspective, highlighting the structural challenges facing agriculture, the important role of municipalities in coordinating local action, and opportunities for pilot initiatives, knowledge exchange, and European cooperation.
Key message: Reducing food losses requires stronger local partnerships, practical solutions, and measurable action -turning European knowledge into sustainable local impact.
