The Delegation of the European Union to Albania is supporting the country in its path towards integration into the EU. The Delegation manages EU Assistance programmes and informs the Albanian public, decision-makers and opinion-formers about the integration its policies. The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Albania is a permanent diplomatic mission. The Delegation was established in 1993 when the European Commission decided to upgrade its Office of the Special Envoy to a full Delegation in the light of the positive democratic development, which had taken place. The Delegation's main tasks are the following:
• Facilitate the development of political and economic relations between the EU and Albania in the framework of the Stabilization and Association Process (SAP), which is the strategy for helping Albania in its path towards integration into the EU.
• Managing EU Assistance programmes.
• Disseminating information on the EU, informing the Albanian general public, decision-makers and opinion formers about the integration process, EU institutions and its policies. Head of Delegation of the European Union in Albania, since August 2022, is Ms Christiane Hohmann.

Dënojmë me forcë përshkallëzimin e dhunës gjatë protestës dhe shkatërrimin e pronës publike dhe private.

U bëjmë thirrje protestuesve të tregojnë vetëpërmbajtje dhe të shmangin çdo akt dhune.
Dhuna nuk ka vend në demokraci.

Liria e tubimit dhe e shprehjes janë të drejta themelore dhe vlera thelbësore evropiane. Ato duhet të respektohen dhe të ushtrohen në mënyrë paqësore.

Dialogu konstruktiv mes të gjitha palëve është e vetmja rrugë përpara për të adresuar shqetësimet legjitime.

We strongly condemn the violent escalation at the protest and the destruction of public and private property.

We call on protestors to exercise restraint and to refrain from any acts of violence. Violence has no place in democracies.

Freedom of assembly and expression are fundamental rights and core European values. They should be respected and exercised peacefully.

Constructive dialogue between all stakeholders is the only way forward to address genuine grievances.

Ne shprehim shqetësim në lidhje me përshkallëzimin e dhunshëm të protestës në Tiranë.

Liria e tubimit dhe e shprehjes janë të drejta themelore dhe vlera thelbësore evropiane. Ato duhet të respektohen dhe të ushtrohen në mënyrë paqësore.

Ne jemi në dijeni të pretendimeve për përdorim të tepruar të dhunës nga policia ndaj protestuesve dhe gazetarëve.

Presim që veprimet e policisë të jenë proporcionale dhe të respektojnë të drejtat themelore, siç edhe presim që këto raste të hetohen me përparësi.

Inkurajojmë të gjitha palët të ulin tensionet.

Dialogu konstruktiv ndërmjet të gjithë aktorëve të përfshirë është e vetmja rrugë përpara.

We express concern on the violent escalation at the protest in Tirana.

Freedom of assembly and expression are fundamental rights and core European values. They should be respected and exercised peacefully.

We take note of the allegations of excessive violence by the police against protestors and journalists.

We expect police action to be proportionate and respect fundamental rights and expect these cases to be investigated as a matter of priority.

We encourage all sides to de-escalate the tension.

Të rinjtë e dinë se siguria ushqimore ka rëndësi. Por mes ndërgjegjësimit dhe informacionit ka ende një hendek.

Një sondazh me 1.006 të rinj të moshës 15–29 vjeç nga Tirana, Gjirokastra, Shkodra dhe Korça tregon se mbi 80% e lidhin ushqimin e sigurt me shëndetin, por vetëm 35% ndihen të mirëinformuar dhe vetëm 27% do të raportonin një parregullsi.

Rezultatet flasin qartë: duhen burime më të besueshme, etiketa më të kuptueshme, më shumë edukim dhe mënyra më të thjeshta për të raportuar problemet. Fushata jonë merr pikërisht këto zëra si pikënisje.

Young people know that food safety matters. But there is still a gap between awareness and access to information.

A survey of 1,006 young people aged 15–29 from Tirana, Gjirokastra, Shkodra and Korça found that more than 80% link safe food directly to their health, yet only 35% feel well informed and just 27% would report an irregularity.

The findings are clear: young people need more reliable sources, clearer labels, better education and simpler ways to report problems. Our campaign takes these voices as its starting point.

📢 Grante prej 80.000–100.000 eurosh për investime që përmirësojnë jetën në komunitet! 🇦🇱

Hapet thirrja e parë për projektpropozime e EU4Municipalities, projekt i financuar nga Bashkimi Evropian 🇪🇺 dhe Gjermania 🇩🇪, për bashkitë e vogla dhe të mesme.

Do të mbështeten deri në 10 projekte për përmirësimin e infrastrukturës dhe shërbimeve publike, zhvillimin ekonomik vendor, mbrojtjen e mjedisit dhe digjitalizimin, në përgjigje të nevojave të komuniteteve lokale.

Në fokus të thirrjes janë bashkitë me më pak se 55,000 banorë (Cens 2023).

📢 Grants of €80,000–€100,000 for investments that improve community life! 🇦🇱

The first call for proposals under EU4Municipalities, a project funded by the European Union 🇪🇺 and Germany 🇩🇪, is now open for small and medium-sized municipalities.

Up to 10 projects will be supported to improve infrastructure and public services, promote local economic development, protect the environment and advance digitalisation, in response to local community needs.

The call focuses on municipalities with fewer than 55,000 inhabitants (2023 Census).

📅 Application deadline: 27 November 2026.

Letërsia e shkrimtarëve shqiptarë ka edhe faqe të shkruara në gjuhë të tjera. Nga Sami Frashëri e Pashko Vasa te autorët e diasporës sot, këto vepra na tregojnë se kujtesa dhe përkatësia mund të shprehen në më shumë se një gjuhë.

Kjo krijimtari ishte në qendër të konferencës ndërkombëtare “Letërsia transgjuhësore evropiane e shkrimtarëve shqiptarë”, të mbajtur më 2 tetor në Europe House. E organizuar nga revista Shejzat–Pleiades me mbështetjen e Bashkimit Evropian, konferenca solli në diskutim lidhjet mes veprave të autorëve shqiptarë dhe letërsive të tjera evropiane.

Kumtesat e konferencës do të botohen në Shejzat–Pleiades pas vlerësimit shkencor. Në dhjetor, një tjetër takim me letërsinë evropiane na pret: FELT, Festivali i Letërsisë Evropiane në Tiranë.

The work of Albanian writers also includes pages written in other languages. From Sami Frashëri and Pashko Vasa to today’s diaspora authors, these works show us that memory and belonging can be expressed in more than one language.

This writing was at the heart of the international conference “Translingual European Literature by Albanian Writers”, held on 2 October at Europe House. Organised by Shejzat–Pleiades with the support of the European Union, the conference explored the connections between works by Albanian writers and other European literatures.

The conference papers will be published in Shejzat–Pleiades following peer review. In December, another encounter with European literature awaits us: FELT, the Festival of European Literature in Tirana.
