In April 2026, the AUA scholarship program supporters Dr. Shant Garabedian and his wife Robin, traveled to Yerevan and visited the AUA campus for the first time, where they spent time touring the University, meeting students, and experiencing firsthand the community they had long supported.
One moment stood out in particular: his meeting with first- and second-year students in AUA’s Master of Public Health (MPH) program. For Dr. Garabedian, hearing their stories felt like “hope and joy and a breath of fresh air.”

On April 2, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia and the American University of Armenia (AUA) Turpanjian College of Health Sciences (TCHS), organized an event titled “Redefining Healthcare in Armenia,” discussing major reforms in Armenia’s healthcare system. The event aimed to share insights on the impact the current changes in the system have on public health, nursing, and medical communities.
The Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan (LL.M. ’04) presented the major health reforms and responded to many questions from students from different programs, including the Master of Public Health, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, the Master of Public Affairs, and the Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Governance.

On May 22, the AUA Turpanjian College of Health Sciences hosted directors of regional medical centers who participated in the “Entrepreneurship Skills in Healthcare” accredited course organized within the Entrepreneurs in Health (EIH) program in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.

Սույն թվականի մայիսի 22-ին Հայաստանի Ամերիկյան համալսարանում հյուրընկալել էինք մարզային բժշկական կենտրոնների տնօրեններին, ովքեր մասնակցել էին ՁԱՈ ծրագրի շրջանակներում կազմակերպված «Ձեռնարկատիրական հմտություններ առողջապահության ոլորտում» կրեդիտավորված դասընթացին։

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at the American University of Armenia (AUA) is pleased to highlight its recent collaboration with HENAR Foundation, aimed at improving healthcare delivery in remote regions of Armenia.
As a leading force in bringing essential services to underserved communities, HENAR continues to address critical gaps in healthcare access nationwide. Through this partnership, nursing students from the AUA Turpanjian College of Health Sciences (TCHS), will be engaged in the training and capacity building of Community Health Workers (CHWs), contributing to strengthening care for some of the country’s most vulnerable populations.

📚For the second year in a row, senior students enrolled in the American University of Armenia (AUA) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program successfully completed their clinical practicum at Wi******er Hospital in Massachusetts, United States.
Following their return from the practicum, the students organized a comprehensive roundtable discussion during which they shared key experiences and lessons learned.

🧑‍⚕️The students were also highly impressed by the breadth and excellence of nursing practice and patient care, as well as the outstanding level of interprofessional communication and collaboration.

📚Արդեն երկրորդ տարին անընդմեջ, Հայաստանի ամերիկյան համալսարանի «Քույրական գործ» բակալավր ծրագրի ավարտական կուրսի ուսանողները հաջողությամբ ավարտում են իրենց կլինիկական պրակտիկան ԱՄՆ Մասաչուսեթս նահանգի Ուինչեսթր հիվանդանոցում։
Պրակտիկայից վերադառնալուց հետո ուսանողները կազմակերպեցին համապարփակ կլոր սեղան-քննարկում, որի ընթացքում կիսվեցին իրենց կարևոր փորձառություններով և քաղած դասերով։ Նրանք խորին երախտագիտություն հայտնեցին իրենց մենթորների ցուցաբերած բացառիկ աջակցության համար և ոգեշնչված էին Ուինչեսթեր հիվանդանցում իրենց տեսած առաջնորդության մոտեցումներով։

🧑‍⚕️Ուսանողները նաև մեծապես տպավորված էին բուժքույրական պրակտիկայի և բուժառուների խնամքի լայնածավալ ու բարձրորակ կազմակերպմամբ, ինչպես նաև միջմասնագիտական հաղորդակցության և համագործակցության բացառիկ մակարդակով։

The Armenian American Medical Association (AAMA), in collaboration with the American University of Armenia (AUA) Gerald and Patricia Turpanjian College of Health Sciences, continued their joint medical education series with webinar on primary care management of chronic kidney disease, bringing together healthcare professionals from Armenia and abroad.
The event featured Dr. Seda Babroudi, nephrologist at Tufts Medical Center and assistant professor of medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine, and Dr. Ara Ajemian, board-certified family physician and medical director at Valley Medical Group in New Jersey. The session attracted a large and diverse audience of healthcare providers, primarily from Armenia, representing both Yerevan and all regions, as well as a small number of international participants.

🏥 Students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program visited Nork Marash Medical Center as part of their “Critical Care in Nursing” course to get acquainted with the work of the intensive care unit and the specifics of modern nursing care.
🧑‍⚕️ During the visit, students participated in professional discussions, asked their questions, toured the hospital, and became familiar with the processes of organizing healthcare services. This experience allowed them to strengthen their theoretical knowledge and develop an understanding of the important and responsible role of nurses in the field of critical care.

We express our gratitude to Nork Marash Medical Center for the warm reception, valuable experience, and knowledge provided.


🏥«Քույրական գործ» բակալավրի ծրագրի ուսանողները «Կրիտիկական խնամքը բուժքույրական գործում» դասընթացի շրջանակում այցելեցին Նորք-Մարաշ բժշկական կենտրոն՝ ծանոթանալու վերակենդանացման բաժանմունքի աշխատանքին և ժամանակակից բուժքույրական խնամքի առանձնահատկություններին։
🧑‍⚕️Այցի ընթացքում ուսանողները մասնակցեցին մասնագիտական ակտիվ քննարկումների, բարձրացրին իրենց հուզող հարցերը, շրջայց կատարեցին հիվանդանոցում և ծանոթացան բուժօգնության կազմակերպման գործընթացներին։ Այս փորձը հնարավորություն տվեց ամրապնդել տեսական գիտելիքները, պատկերացում կազմել կրիտիկական խնամքի ոլորտում բուժքրոջ կարևոր և պատասխանատու դերի մասին։
