The region is nowhere close to the debate in the near future and the LGBTQ folx in the region - citizens and expats alike - have been surviving by remaining discreet. All the vehement support is being seen as way for the westerners to push their own agenda. So, the crackdown is also stronger than ever starting with targeting rainbow colored toys and clothing.

"The World Cup will end, FIFA will leave, and the hate will continue." Things are expected to get from bad to worse.

Could there have been better way to show support? Raise the voices of the people we wanted to support? They would have said and done things in language not harmful for them. Regardless it's a definite that even though our target remains similar everywhere but the fight definitely is not. We need to be a thoughtful ally.

Estimated, over a million marched 2 KMs for 31st Pride Parade in Beunos Aires, Argentina holding motto "The debt is owed to us". While Argentina has made relatively great progress towards LGBTQ inclusion by, for example, becoming first country in Latin America to recognize non-binary gender, transwomen are particular vulnerable because of hate crimes targeted towards them. So, "despite the Equal Marriage Law ( # 26.618), the Gender Identity Law ( # 26.743), and the Transvestite Trans Work Quota Law ( # 27.636)", organizers stated, "violence and hate speeches persisted".

One of the most popular events that attracts a heavy footfall, the 3-day Arunachal Literature Festival featured a section for LGBTQ community for the first time in the state's history. Q***r folx and Allies recited their pieces to a curious audience who got emotional, listening the content and appreciated with rounds of applauses.

Japan brings Partnership Certificates for LGBTQ folx in a (barely) positive step. Hope anchors on the fact that while the changes is slow because of conservatives dominating the legislature the whole population of the nation is tilted towards equal rights for the LGBTQ folx.
