The standing Canadian delegation of independent experts, leaders in research and education on Holocaust remembrance and the fight against antisemitism, is in Buenos Aires to participate in the plenary meetings of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), within the framework of Argentina’s pro tempore presidency of the organization.
During their visit, the delegates met with the embassy team to share perspectives on the scope of their work, current challenges in the Canadian context, and the realities of Jewish and Roma communities in Argentina.
This valuable exchange reaffirms the shared commitment to remembrance, inclusion, and the fight against all forms of discrimination.

✨ We are delighted to share the results of the project “Economic Autonomy for the Indigenous Rural Community of Piruaj Bajo.”
This initiative, implemented by Cynnal with the support of the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), aims to strengthen the autonomy of farming communities in northern Santiago del Estero.
Thanks to the CFLI, the La Unión Workshop achieved a long-awaited dream:⚡Access to solar electricity to power semi-industrial sewing machines.
🧵🪡 More than twenty women received technical training in cutting and sewing, taking a firm step toward economic independence and sustainable community development.

Following Tenaris’ historic $300M expansion in Sault Ste. Marie, Ambassador Stewart Wheeler visited the company’s operations in Argentina.
The visit highlighted how Argentine inputs are further transformed in Canada, supporting our energy sector and creating high-value jobs. Sault Ste. Marie plays a vital role as a key hub in North America’s steel industry, strengthening regional supply chains.
Tenaris’ ongoing investment in R&D in Canada is also helping drive innovation and long-term competitiveness.
The Ambassador also toured the Roberto Rocca Technical School, a strong example of Tenaris’ commitment to community development and training the next generation of skilled talent.

🇨🇦 The Political Counsellor of the Embassy of Canada, Jonathan Sauvé, took part in the event “World Cup, when sport is a high-impact public policy” at the Universidad Nacional del Delta.
Together with representatives from Japan 🇯🇵, Morocco 🇲🇦 and Brazil 🇧🇷, the discussion focused on how sport fosters social development and strengthens the international projection of nations.

Last week we welcomed to Buenos Aires a delegation from Canada’s Standing Committee on International Trade (CIIT). 🇨🇦🤝🇦🇷
During their visit, the parliamentarians held meetings with senators, Foreign Ministry officials, and private sector representatives to discuss a potential Mercosur–Canada agreement and the opportunities it could bring to strengthen integration and diversify trade.
It was a constructive dialogue that reaffirmed the potential of an increasingly solid bilateral relationship, built on complementary economies and a shared vision of sustainable development.
