The Leone Lions were in the Green Building! 🦁

Today we had the pleasure of giving students from Leone High School a tour of our Green Building & we got to sit down and share with them the many great things we here at AS-EPA do in regulating and protecting our local enviornment!

The kids had many great questions; some of them taking a peak interest in the topic of Solar Energy 🌞

Thank you Chakuh & Leone High School for visiting and we look forward to seeing some of you who showed real interest in the work we do!

If you see a familiar face in the pictures, tag them and share the message of "Our Power, Our Planet" 🌏

Last week, AS-EPA was invited to set up at ASCC - Agriculture, Community and Natural Resources Division's Green House Gala and man was it an event!

From the setup, to the program, to the dancing and the food; it was definitely a great success of an event!

A great highlight for us was seeing that majority of the crowd were all young and eager to learn about what makes our island green and beautiful!

We here at AS-EPA want to send a big fa'afetai to ASCC ACNR Division for allowing us to be part of such an amazing event. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏽

It's Wetlands Month!! 🌧️🌴

This morning AS-EPA was blessed to join American Samoa Department of Commerce for their wave and kickoff for Wetlands Month! A month where we are reminded of the vital role our wetlands play, for not only our enviornment and community, but also our culture!

Thank you Director Aliimuamua Magdalene Petaia and your amazing team for allowing us to be part of your kickoff! We are excited to see what AS-DOC has in store this month in spreading awareness for our local wetlands 🫶

The future of our island and planet is in great hands 🫶

Yesterday, we welcomed a group of bright students from Tafuna High School, to our office for a deep dive into environmental stewardship, and our work here at the American Samoa Environmental Protection Agency.

Led by our very own Assistant Director Christianera Tuitele, the students didn't just learn about the environment, they experienced it. From exploring how we monitor air and water quality to learning about the science behind it all through our lab 🔎🔬

Thank you to the Tafuna High School staff and students for visiting. We look forward to all our future eco-warriors! 🍃
