Utah National Guard Team in American Samoa 🇦🇸 SFC Ioane and SFC Brown had the opportunity to host a booth at the American Samoa Community College Career Fair — and the turnout was totally amazing !Special thank to Fala and the Student Government Association for the invitation.

We met many enthusiastic, driven students eager to learn about the military along side with school and having the Army National Guard Pay for it. 💵

The Utah National Guard proudly conducted a command team visit to local high schools in American Samoa, including Samoana High School, Fagaitua High School, and Tafuna High School JROTC programs.

During this visit, the American Samoa Department of Education Director, Dr. Maefau Mary Taufete’e, welcomed the Utah National Guard Command Team, which included COL Andrew Owens, LTC Adam Ashworth, CSM Kevin Mayes, 1SG Zachary Hyde, and MSG Justin Day.

It was an honor to engage with students and cadets across these outstanding schools. Our focus was to strengthen partnerships with the American Samoa Department of Education, connect with future leaders, and gain valuable insight into the dedication, pride, and patriotism demonstrated by the youth of the territory.

The visit provided meaningful opportunities to share experiences, discuss leadership and service, and reinforce our shared commitment to developing strong communities and future leaders. The Utah National Guard looks forward to continued collaboration and building lasting relationships throughout American Samoa.

Our visit focuses on engaging with students throughout the territory and strengthening our partnership with the American Samoa Government. The meeting concluded with a thoughtful gesture from Lt. Governor Pulumataala, who presented our team with beautifully crafted local goods. We look forward to our continued collaboration and fostering positive relationships here in American Samoa.
