Meaningful change begins with honest conversations and connections.
This week, Creative West is convening State Arts Agency Directors, advocacy leads, and trustees in Idaho for the 2026 Creative West Arts Policy Exchange (CWAPE).
CWAPE is a space to align regional arts and cultural policy strategies, strengthen shared leadership, and deepen our commitment to the arts as an essential public good for every community in the West.
Over the coming days, we’ll be sharing takeaways from conversations on advocacy, policy, and creative economies—and what this work makes possible across our region and beyond.
Follow along as the stories unfold!

Fa'afetai to all artists and art groups for submitting their sample work and proposed mural designs for the Utulei Bathroom Mural Project. Each entry was assessed by a representative from each department, utilizing a comprehensive rubric. To ensure impartiality, the names of the artists were kept confidential during the evaluation process, allowing our judges to focus solely on the rubric and the submitted samples and proposed mural concept.
After thorough assessment, it is with great pleasure that, on behalf of the Department of Parks and Recreation and the American Samoa Department of Commerce, we CONGRATULATE SUBMISSION 04, Artist: Noah Atinae.
1st: Submission 04 (Noah Atinae)
2nd: Submission 05 (John Duffy Hudson)
3rd: Submission 01 (Aleki Salevao)
4th: Submission 03 (Pio Atonio)
5th: Submission 02 (Tanumaleu Luani)
We look forward to seeing the finish product.
