Today, the OPEC Secretariat launched the 20th edition of its flagship publication, the World Oil Outlook (WOO) 2026 at 14:00 (CEST). The launch took place at the OPEC Secretariat and was livestreamed from the OPEC website. ��HE Haitham Al Ghais, OPEC Secretary General, inaugurated the event and delivered opening remarks. This was followed by a presentation by Dr Ayed AlQahtani, Director of Reserach Division at OPEC, on the Outlook’s key findings and a high-level panel discussion. ��The panel included Dr Al-Qahtani as well as senior representatives from industry including Dr. Paul Horsnell of Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, Dr Amrita Sen of Energy Aspects, Mr. Robert McNally of Rapidan Energy Group, Mr. Jim Burkhard of S&P Global Energy, and Mr. David Fyfe of Argus Media. ��HE , said: “The scale of humanity’s energy needs requires sustained investment today across all energies and technologies. Today, HE Haitham Al Ghais, OPEC Secretary General, welcomed HE Dr Hisham Al-Alawi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iraq to Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Vienna, to the OPEC Secretariat.

HE Al Ghais congratulated HE Al-Alawi on his appointment. The Secretary General expressed gratitude for the courtesy visit and highlighted the significant contribution Iraq has made to OPEC's affairs, including its role in the Organization's founding.
