The plant was built in 1978, was ready to operate, but was never commissioned due to a policy decision of the Austrian Government.
The Zwentendorf Nuclear Power Plant in Austria is a 723 MWe Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) plant situated in the picturesque countryside of Tullnerfeld, just an hour long drive from Vienna.
