A cuppa, a catch-up and a good cause brought Oaklands Park locals together last week for their annual Cancer Council Australia 'Biggest Morning Tea.'
The 'OPALS' group (pictured) once again showed their generosity and community spirit, this year raising an incredible $396 during their weekly post-walk catch-up. All to help fund life-saving support for those impacted by cancer.
Well done crew đ

âReconciliation is all of us sitting at the same tableâŚto share knowledge, respect and space.â
Junction resident Colleenâs words capture the heart of this yearâs National Reconciliation Week theme, âAll Inâ. For Colleen, Reconciliation is meaningful only when it is lived.
A talented photographer, Colleen first picked up a camera as a creative outlet - but it quickly grew into something deeper: a responsibility to her culture and community.
âI was so tired of seeing my people shown without strength or pride,â Colleen said. âWe are so much more than that. Weâre strong. Weâre resilient. We've got beauty in our culture, and I wanted to show it.â
Her work now centers on preserving culture, uplifting community voices and presenting Aboriginal identity with dignity and resilience. That same spirit is what shapes her view of reconciliation.
You can see Colleenâs work on her Instagram page:

On this day 18 years ago, we said sorry as a nation for the pain, suffering and hurt experienced by the Stolen Generations. We honour their strength and resilience, and acknowledge the ongoing effect this has had on their families and community.
National Reconciliation Week (27 May â 3 June 2026) begins tomorrow. The 2026 theme, âAll Inâ, calls on everyone to actively support reconciliation every day - encouraging all of us to step away from the sidelines and take meaningful action.
Events are being held across the state to mark the week - find out more here: https://www.reconciliation.org.au/calendar/

We have new developments on the way, including a range of apartments. So, if youâre an existing Junction tenant and interested in exploring apartment options, give us a call on 8275 8700 to register your interest or learn more.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Thursday to skate through the second to last day of the school holidays.
Over 100 children and families played sports with MarionLIFE Community Services Inc, took skating lessons from Free Mind Skate School and connected with local services at our 'Family Fun Day.'
"I love these events that Junction put on because it gives us something to do in the school holidays thatâs easy to access and gets the kids out of the house," said Amanda - a local mum and Junction resident.
With school returning this week, we hope all families have enjoyed the fun and extra time together. See you at the next one!
