Standards have changed over time.
The “running man” symbol is now widely used because it’s quicker to recognise and easier to understand in an emergency — especially when people are under stress.
Older signage can still exist in some buildings, depending on compliance requirements and when it was installed.
Part of what we do is knowing what’s acceptable —
and when it’s time to upgrade.
Deciding what and where Fire Detection needs to go is a small part of what we do. But an important part, all the same.
