πŸŸ‘πŸ”΄βš« This National Reconciliation Week, we're All In.

Today is the beginning of Reconciliation Week. We here at the Mental Health Coalition of South Australia believe when First Nations peoples are truly heard and supported with culturally safe care, communities heal β€” all of us are better for it.

But First Nations peoples have carried this weight for far too long. Reconciliation is everyone's responsibility. That means showing up β€” not just this week, but every day.

This week, we ask: how will you be All In? πŸ™

Behind every headline is a human being. πŸ’™

As Schizophrenia Awareness Week comes to an end, the Mental Health Coalition of SA is joining the national call to go Beyond the Headlines β€” and centre the real voices of people living with schizophrenia, their families, carers, and supporters.

When people have access to early support, stable housing, and coordinated care, they are far more likely to stay well and thrive in their communities. That's what we're advocating for.

Beyond this week, you can make a difference:
βœ”οΈ Share lived experience stories
βœ”οΈ Challenge harmful stereotypes when you see them
βœ”οΈ Start an open, informed conversation

What do you actually know about schizophrenia β€” beyond what you've seen in the headlines? πŸ€”

This week is Schizophrenia Awareness Week 2026 and we're looking deeper.

Schizophrenia is a complex mental health condition that affects how a person thinks, perceives, and experiences the world. It is not what movies and media so often portray. The stigma and misunderstanding surrounding it can be really harmful β€” stopping people from seeking help and excluding them from their communities.

The Mental Health Coalition of SA is proud to support this year's theme: Beyond the Headlines.

Challenge what you think you know. Listen to lived experience. Help build a more informed, compassionate South Australia.

This week is Schizophrenia Awareness Week, and we're going Beyond the Headlines. πŸ“°

Too often, conversations about schizophrenia are shaped by fear and misunderstanding β€” not by the real experiences of people living with schizophrenia.

The Mental Health Coalition of SA stands with everyone living with schizophrenia, their families, carers, and supporters. With the right supports β€” early intervention, stable housing, coordinated care β€” people living with schizophrenia can and do live meaningful lives in our communities.

This week, let's replace stigma with understanding. Let's look beyond the headlines.
