AUVGA is Adelaide Uni's video games association! We meet every Tuesday and Friday from 4pm in the Union House Student Lounge so come on by! Nothing, actually! No!

How long has EVAC been around for? EVAC was founded in 2001 as the Adelaide University Video Gamers Association (AUVGA). We changed our name around 2007. What does EVAC stand for? We just liked the sound of it. We've never worked out an official backronym for the name but we use "Extremely Versatile Acronym Club" a lot. And to match that name, we like to think up new acronyms for EVAC. Do I need t

EVAC Movie Night Suggestion Spreadsheet 03/11/2020

EVAC is on again this week in the Old Uni bar at 4pm until late on both Wednesday and Friday. The regular COVID-Safe practices are in place as always with the sign-in sheet near the front of the bar and 1.5 metre distancing between people.

While this week is pretty quiet with not much to report next week will pick up quite a bit with EVAC's Movie Night taking place next Saturday. Below will be a clearer announcement and run down of the event for those interested.

The EVAC Movie Night will be on November 14th 12pm-12am, and is free for EVAC members. We will have two projectors running at opposite corners of the room, with various Video Game/general popular culture movies playing and some odd 'So-bad-it's-good' movies (i.e. Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat etc.) planned as well. Dinner, drinks and snacks will also be on sale from the bar if people are interested. We have set up a Google Sheets for people to make recommendations for Movies that people could bring in *legal* formats just to keep everything 'above board' which is found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Py1p884I8dCwGdB8-pquYKNwiEUThaPGuiZ_uiNGXm0/edit?usp=sharing

After we've given people enough time to suggest movies on the Google Sheet we will set up a poll of some description where people can vote for the movies they'd be most interested in us playing for the event.

There is also the opportunity for us to offer alcoholic beverages at the event as well so if people would be interested in that react with a 😆 so that we can best gauge interest and assess if we should or not.

Hope you guys have a great week and we hope you guys are looking forward to the movie night next Saturday and we'll see you all either Wednesday or Friday this week 👋

EVAC is once again on this week in the Old Uni Bar at 4pm on Wednesday and Friday until late, the regular COVID-Safe practices will be in place as always with the sign-in sheet and 1.5 metre distancing between people.

As stated last week the Pokemon VGC tournament has been moved to this Friday due to people not being able to make it last week so we'll be going ahead with it this week. Now while it is true that the DLC will be dropping on Friday we will still be abiding with the Series 6 ruleset and if you need a refresher you can check the link in the above announcement for all the rules involving banned mons etc.

Hope you all have a great week and we'll see ya either Wednesday or Friday night for your regular dose of video games 👋

Hi all, EVAC will be held this week as usual on Wednesday and Fridays at 4pm in the Old Uni Bar. Previous COVID-Safe practices will still be in place with the sign in sheet and the 1.5 metre distance between people to ensure we are in keeping with the University's standards.

Just a friendly reminder to sign up for membership if you haven't already as while it is also required by the Uni, more importantly it will be a big help for us in future with room negotiation, grants and the money from memberships goes right into club gear, it also comes with a 10% discount at Adelaide Comics Centre. For Adelaide Uni students it's $5 and all others it's $10 which when broken down comes to about 10cents per 8 hours.

Hope you all have a great week and will see you there either night :D

EVAC meetings will resume from 28th of August. People attending will need to adhere to the 1 person per 2 square meters restriction, and record their attendance and sanitise their hands at a central sign-in when they arrive, as per state government restrictions.

06/04/2020

EVACs weekly meetings have been cancelled until further notice due to social distancing measures. We will let you know when meetings resume. Stay safe.

Hey all! Been a while since we've posted here! EVAC this coming Friday will feature our first Pokemon Sword and Shield tournament! The format is Double Battles VGC-style. (Bring 6 Pokemon, pick 4 each battle)

After viewing a fair bit of competitive, We have decided that Dynamax will be banned due to it being too unpredictable and hard to play around. However Gigantamax will still be legal, as you can predict which mon(s) can Gigantamax, a la Mega Evolution in Gen 6-7.

The following are also disallowed:
- Zacian, Zamazenta, Eternadus, and Mew
- Duplicate items (each pokemon must have a different item)
- Duplicate Pokemon
