The Kingston branch of the SA Greens is committed to a grassroots movement of participatory democracy, focussed on ecological sustainability, social justice, and peace and non-violence in our community and beyond. Kingston is a large electorate south of Adelaide from Happy Valley, O'Halloran Hill and Hallett Cove in the north to Sellicks Beach in the south, following South Road and the Onkaparinga River (and currently including Old Noarlunga but excluding McLaren Vale, McLaren Flat and Willunga). It doesn't, as the name might suggest, include Kingston or Kingston SE! Kingston is the federal electorate that incorporates components of the State Electoral Districts of Kaurna, Davenport, Hurtle Vale, Reynell and Black. The Greens vision for a sustainable, compassionate and fair nation has great relevance to residents of Kingston. We care about public transport, health, dental, and education services, a fair go for all and helping people in need. We care about the health of the gulf, the long term viability of our vineyards and other local food producers. We want a society that is linked by excellent bike lanes and that provides local jobs and local health care services - including primary and emergency health care.

Hi all, ( Christmas Songs survey)
If you're one of the people who are keen to join us at the Christies Beach Pageant and walk beside our Gingerbread House float either in Christmas Costumes (fairies, elves, gingerbread man etc etc) or in a Christmas TShirt and jeans/pants or a skirt - we thank you for your participation in this first - time - for Kingston Branch GREENS event.
BUT, even if you cannot be a part of the Pageant on the day, you can still let us know your ideas for Christmas Music that we play from the float. You can just email your selection/s to us at [email protected] and we will add them to our possible song list. I've already voted myself for Feliz Navidad so if that's your favourite, it's already in the voting box.
If you do want to walk with us on the day, use the same email address above and let us know you want to be a part of this ambitious and colourful event and we'll get back to you asap.

Along with so many others across our community, the Kingston Branch of The Greens SA is horrified and saddened by news of the violent attack on Dr Helen Haines MP. We express our solidarity and support for Dr Haines, her family, friends and constituents. We urge our members and supporters to speak and post with restraint and respect while the Victoria Police and other authorities investigate the circumstances and motive for this terrible crime.

If you'd like to participate in the Christies Beach Christmas Pageant with us on 22nd November but are unsure it's for you, contact us for a chat at [email protected]

The Pageant is now a shorter distance (hooray!), so it only goes from the roundabout near the reptile shop (weird, I know) and down to the Market Stalls at Rotary Park. Also, if you feel you'd like to be in it but just can't see yourself as an elf or a gingerbread man, a nice (family-rated) Christmas T-Shirt and pants will do- looking at you in particular, guys; we don't have enough male or male-presenting participants.

Wheelchair users and gopher riders are welcome to be a part of this event. It only moves slowly, so be in it if you can. Melanie Selwood and possibly other Greens "stars" will be in attendance at this event too, so if you have questions, we're fairly sure they'll have answers for you when we get to Rotary Park.

Now is a great time to Join your local Greens Branch. There's lots going on with all the info in the e-brief for Members. (Some of that is also in the volunteers' v-Mail newsletter, but some Events are Members Only.)
If you choose to become a member you can join one of the Signal Groups relevant to you and help to shape the direction of the Greens Policies through your local branch.
Kingston Greens (from around Hallet Cove area to way down south around Moana) has monthly meetings which you could join in person (tea and coffee is served) or you can Zoom in. Attending meetings is not compulsory.
Here's a link to the current fee structure and there are special rates for Concession Card Holders, First Nations People, Low Income people and Youth (aged 14-17)
