Few people have changed the way we see the natural world like Dr Jane Goodall. From the forests of Gombe to the halls of the UN, she reminded us that humans are not separate from nature, but part of it.
Her message was simple but profound: when we respect nature, we respect ourselves.
💚 As Greens, we carry her torch by fighting to protect habitats, end deforestation, and build a future where humans live in balance with the earth that sustains us.
Thank you, Jane, for teaching generations to never give up on creating a better world. Your courage and compassion will continue to inspire us in every action and every conversation.

Great job by local environmental crusaders Friends of Port River and PAREPG for bringing attention to the negative impact that works on the south road tunnel is having on our waterfowl and native species.
DTI acknowledge that they were aware of the issue, but did not care.
Environmentalists raise concerns Gillman proposal will put wetlands at risk
The SA government has proposed to use a site in Gillman to store and process spoil from a major transport project, but an environmental group says those plans may have major adverse effects on crucial wetlands nearby.

Congratulations Melanie Selwood!! Our #1 candidate for South Australia’s Legislative Council in 2026
We’re looking forward to campaigning with you in Port Adelaide, Lee, Colton & Cheltenham
🚨 ANNOUNCING 🚨
Melanie Selwood is our lead legislative council candidate for the 2026 state election! 🎉
Deputy Mayor for Adelaide Hills council and a former arts manager and business owner, Melanie has lived in rural communities for most of her life and looks forward to bringing that fresh perspective with her to parliament.
"Our community needs strong voices in parliament, and I'm ready to stand up for people and planet. We need to go further and faster on climate action, urgently drive down the cost of living, address inequality in all its forms, and strengthen protections for our environment." 💚
Melanie is hitting the campaign running in preparation for our massive state election campaign where the Greens have a chance to double our representation in SA parliament by winning Heysen and two legislative council seats. Bring on 2026!

Hindmarsh is home to Torrens Island’s 250MW battery, helping SA transition from 70% renewable energy to 100%.
Let’s get rid of dirty energy powering our lives.
Can we get back to the renewables rollout now?

Great day knocking on doors in Largs Bay today, and hearing from our community!
It’s clear that the residents of the Lefevre Pensinsula are tired of being ignored by their local members of parliament and want better than a nuclear waste dump and a polluting cement plant.
That’s why more people are voting for The Greens SA in Hindmarsh in the 2025 Federal Election.

Keep nuclear waste out of our Port!
Reports that the Albanese Government have signed a secret AUKUS deal with the US are deeply concerning.
South Australia has long been the target for a dangerous nuclear waste dump and Labor must clearly rule it out before the election.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s Labor’s ridiculous subs or Dutton’s nuclear brain fart. South Australia is not a dumping ground for the two major parties’ dangerous nuclear plans.

Keep nuclear out of SA, and keep nuclear subs out of the Port River
Today marks one year since the Federal Court put a stop to a nuclear waste dump at Kimba, recognising the rights of Native Title holders.
In that court room it was standing room only and the tension was palpable. First Nations community leaders, activists and supporters all holding their breath in the hope that justice would prevail – and prevail it did.
In South Australia we have repeatedly rejected the idea of a nuclear industry in our state and yet, both major parties continue to try to force it upon us. We will not stop fighting.
